The Northern England / Yorkshire / Merseyside region
Merseyside is rich in culture and home to The Beatles. As if you didn't know !
Liverpool is the 'European Capital of Culture for 2008'
The people of Liverpool are very proud of their city and it shows in their humour and every day lives. Playing and watching football is by far the most popular activity on Merseyside. The two Premier Leaugue teams, Liverpool FC (known as 'the reds') & Everton (known as 'the blues or the 'toffees') are followed with great enthusiam and very much ingrained in the vast majority of Liverpool people. Football really is a way of life here..! See one of the teams play at their home stadiums, or if you want a pure merseyside football experience! ,, Go to one of the two premiership derby games each season as the teams take turns at playing eachother inside their own grounds.. A Must See experience.!
Liverpool is situated on the Mersey River along which are the infamous docklands consisting of Industial, residential & commercial use. The docklands once spanned some 7 miles purely for industrial & commercial activity such as slave trading and shipping goods in & out like coal, tobacco & cotton.
Liverpool is currently in it's 800th year and although it has been modernised throughout parts of the city; it still maintains great character & charm.. Liverpool is second only to London for it's number of listed buildings and is a welcome attraction for historians and lovers of architecture, art & musical culture; all of which are reflected in the city.
Because of this, It's proven to be a very popular film location and you may well come across some filming activity going on in the city. Whether it be for local soaps or hollywood movies; liverpool has the distinct ability to cater for it.
With each corner turned & on every street, you will find a point of interest whether it be historical or simply a bargain to be had up in St John's market..
Liverpool has alot to offer... including a variety of trendy coffee bars popping up here & there, as they do! or alternatively, try a traditional English or Irish pub downtown in the Matthew Street area, home to the Matthew Street Festival every summer. Down here you will find Beatles memorabilia shops, the Cavern Club, Lennon's Bar, the famous 'Flannigan's Apple', Sports bars and a variety of shops including designer shopping from the likes of 'Vivien Westwood'...... Or simply cross the street to the newly built & very popular MET Quarter Shopping Arcade for more designer shopping goods... All this just a 10 min walk from the apartment!
Across the water we have the Wirral and beyond that, North Wales. Both have spectacular scenery and quaint villages scattered along the coast and throughout the countryside. Plenty of golf courses and walking trails out there. All within a 30 min drive
Liverpool / Liverpool City Centre area
The recently opened LIVERPOOL ONE area of the city is just at the end of the street from the apartments, only 300 meters away . The Albert Dock is just a short stroll across the road & hosts a variety of maritime attractions including the Maritime Museum (free entry) Yachts in dock as well as historic buildings of the Industrial revolution era . As well as all this, there's an abundance of good restaurants & trendy clubs, the Tate gallery, the Beatles tour, souvenir shops & much more..
On the other side of town you can visit The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool Museum, St Georges Hall & The Empire Theatre (all in the same area).
Outside of the city you can take a tour Liverpool FC or Everton FC's football grounds. Go to their official websites for info.
Liverpool has two cathedrals, The Anglican & The Catholic . Both situated at opposing ends of Hope Street. These are a must see and require donation only. Entry is free.
Hope Street spans the length of the Georgian Quarter and is amongst the university area of the city.. Along this street you'll find the 'Philharmonic Hall' & of course the Philharmonic Pub! . Go for a pint in the pub or two and visit it's famous toilets. Hope street and the Georgian Quarter offer a variety of other places to eat & drink from budget prices right up to the more expensive fine dining experience.

Spent a fortune shopping in the New Liverpool ONE development and loved every minute of it....,,,!. Kate & Kids. Glasgow.
I stayed in this fabulous, fully-equipped apartment while teaching last spring, and can't recommend it highly enough. It's situated right near the university district, and a quick walk to the downtown centre. Two first-rate restaurants occupy the ground floor, and the culture in Liverpool has never been better. It's your turnkey solution to staying in Liverpool. Tim Riley. USA
Easy to deal with, thanks for a great place to stay. we really loved the Posh indian restaurant in the East Village, in fact all of the eateries there were spot on.. going on a diet now.. Greg Regis. Mold, North Wales
The East Village, is literally a 5 minute walk from the night life, the town centre and good food. Me and the girls had a brilliant stay and we would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Liverpool, we will be using them again in the future. Kathy Mclean Belfast.
Top Location, does what it says on the packet. Only a couple of minutes walk to 'Alma de Cuba'. An awesome bar restaurant on Seel Street. Marshall Simpson. Stoke on Trent
