The Northern England / Yorkshire / Merseyside region
Ideal for all northwest football grounds and rugby grounds 1 hour from Manchester airport. Once the hub of British industry with great cities such as York, Leeds and Sheffield all to be found here. Leeds is of course now a centre of another great British industry- shopping! Sheffield is now a hot destination for a brilliant night out.
If you want something a bit more gentle then take the time to discover the narrow streets of York and visit the stunning cathedral.
Liverpool area
There are plenty of reasons to visit Liverpool, not least because it will be Britain's Capital of Culture 2008. Take a trip to the Mathew Street Cavern Club or ride one of the Mersey Ferries. There are of course 2 great football grounds for the sports fans.
You cannot visit Liverpool without experiencing the Beatles- why not take the Beatles tour? Williamson Tunnels and Albert Dock are also worth seeing.
