Home description
Stay in a one-bedroom luxury apartment in a converted flour mill on the beautiful Wirral peninsula, just over the River Mersey from Liverpool City Centre. The apartment overlooks Alfred Dock where you can watch ships passing within a few metres. The apartment consists of a living room, one bedroom, bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen, complete with oven, hob, kettle, toaster, healthy-eating grill, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. All linen and towels are also provided. If required, a self-inflating king size bed is available. Also included is a 32" TV with access to over 30 channels and a CD player / DAB radio.
East Float Mill was built in 1850 and throughout the following decade was used as a departure point for emigrants on ships bound for Australia. It has recently been converted into contemporary loft-style apartments that retain much of the original cast iron and brickwork.

Just 10 minutes away is the city of Liverpool - European Capital of Culture 2008, with its vibrant city centre and exciting nightlife. Visit the Cavern Club, birthplace of the Beatles, and the Beatles Museum in Albert Dock: itself an important tourist centre, housing the Tate Gallery and many fashionable shops, restaurants and bars, the haunts of many local celebrities and footballers. Visit the Mersey Maritime Museum, which gives a powerful insight into Liverpool's past, including the slave trade and Irish emigration. www.visitliverpool.com
For soccer fans Liverpool is home to 2 Premiership clubs, Liverpool FC and Everton FC. About an hours drive away is Manchester, home to Manchester United and Manchester City.
If the British weather permits, the seaside resort of New Brighton is only 10 minutes away, with its large sandy beach.
Take a trip across the Mersey on the world famous "Ferry 'cross the Mersey", on the way taking in all the sights including the well known Liver Building with the Liver birds perched on top. Why not visit the new Spaceport attraction, "the ultimate journey through time & space", less than 10 minutes away by foot. www.spaceport.org.uk
Getting around the area is easy with the excellent transport system. Within a mile of the apartment you have the Mersey Ferries, Mersey Rail with stations right across Wirral and Liverpool, there is a bus stop right outside the apartment block and if you have hired a car the M53 motorway is approximately a mile away.
The national motorway network makes it easy to explore the whole of the North of England in a relatively short time. While here there is a wealth of towns, cities and villages to visit and explore.
Liverpool / Wallasey area
The Wirral peninsula is very close to Chester and North Wales. There are many very pretty villages to visit, and the open countryside offers potential for long, rambling walks, followed by a pub lunch and pint of beer in one of the many country pubs. Or you could visit Liverpool's Chinatown, Europe's oldest Chinese community. Here you will find an amazing array of Chinese restaurants for a wonderful night out.
Although everything is provided for a self catering holiday, there is a wealth of pubs, cafes and restaurants within easy reach of the apartment, including Albert Dock, Met Quarter , the brand new Liverpool One which will soon be the largest shopping complex in Europe, and the Liverpool Echo Arena where you can see lots of top performers and bands, all just a short trip over to Liverpool City Centre.

If you are driving from Liverpool follow the signs for the Wallasey tunnel. Go through the tunnel and take the first exit on your left just after you go through the toll booths. At the top of the ramp turn left, then left again at the traffic lights. You will see the building in front of you on the right. Turn into the car park directly after the building. If the gate is closed pull up to it and it will open automatically.
If you are approaching from the M53 motorway follow the signs to Liverpool and All Docks A5139. It is the last exit before the Wallasey Tunnel, directly opposite the large B & Q Warehouse on the right. Follow the road for about a mile and go straight on at the traffic lights. You will see the building in front of you on the right. Turn into the car park directly after the building. If the gate is closed pull up to it and it will open automatically.

Further details indoors: The apartment contains everything you should require for a great holiday or short stay on the Wirral peninsula. If required, a self inflating king size bed is available. Taking just 3 minutes to inflate, there is plenty of space for this in the living room. A pay as you go mobile phone is available if required.
Further details outdoors: The building is set right next to Alfred Dock. You can take the camping chairs supplied downstairs and sit on the dockside, just watching the world go by.

Unfortunately pets and smoking are not permitted in the apartment.
Please be aware that the apartment is part of a residential community, therefore please take this into consideration when playing music, using the TV or any other activity which may cause inconvenience to your neighbours . Should any member of your party behave in such a way that is likely to cause distress, danger or annoyance to any other residents or damage to any property, we reserve the right to terminate your rental agreement immediately. You will be liable for any costs incurred, payable before departure and no refund will be due.
