The Northern England / Yorkshire / Merseyside region
Our home is situated in North-West England. Liverpool(2008 European capital of culture) with all its world class sporting and cultural activities,yet within a few minutes you can be in the heart of the Cheshire countryside or fishing/sailing out at sea. The area is world famous for golf with the 2006 Open championship taking place only a few miles away,with another 2 Open championship venues within 30 minutes drive. The location is ideally located for dining out, theatre,music both classical and popular, with all of the amenities that a large city has to offer. Yet we are within a days touring distance of Roman Chester, North Wales,Lake district,Peak District,Bronte Country and even the Midlands. Access to the National motorway network is only 2 miles away, which places London or Scotland within a four hour drive, making short stays in these locations quite feasible. There are 2 International airports within 30 minutes of the house and even a sea ferry terminal serving Ireland is only 10 minutes from the house
Liverpool / Anfield area
Liverpool has much to offer. Our home is a 10 minute drive from the centre were there are shops, restaurants, museums and the famous Albert Dock. Here the Beatles Museum and Maritime Museum overlook the River Mersey. There's lots to do with the vibrant Cavern Club in Matthew Street and both Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs are nearby. For a more relaxed pace you can drive 90 minutes north to the the beautiful Lake District National Park or south to the Snowdonia National Park of Wales. Both offer lakes, mountains and beaches with typical quaint English Pubs and accommodation. Manchester International Airport is 40 minutes away and London only 3 hours drive or 2 hours by train. If you wish you can even catch the Seacat Ferry from the docks to Dublin in Ireland to sample the local Guiness drinking!
