"Fantastic cottage and location"
We booked the cottage at fairly short notice for us and our two children (17 and 19). Everything was exactly as described and immaculate throughout. Loads of local information on everything from places to visit to walking routes. Children only with us a few days so whilst they were there we enjoyed good food, quad biking excellent place too, would definitely recommend http://www.wildparkleisure.co.uk) and a trip to Meadowhall for shopping. Rest of the week included Chatsworth, cycling and more good food. Would certainly recommend this place if you are thinking of booking, based on our experience.

"A beautifully maintained Derbyshire cottage close to some fantastic sights"
Candlelight Cottage is extremely well appointed, and owners Simon and Jill have really thought of everything to make the stay as comfy as possible. We're not ramblers but used it as a base to explore, and enjoyed the Tideswell food fair, plus Chatsworth and Haddon Hall - all in a rare window of sunshine. Extremely comfy bed, loved the kitchen with Aga, and the fact that the Red Lion is a stone's throw away. Tall people watch out for the beams, but it's all part of the cottage's charm.

"Lovely cottage in beautiful Peak District Village"
The cottage is in a lovely location overlooking Litton village green. We found it spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. The welcome basket of local goodies was a very nice touch. The cottage definitely merits its 5 star status. The owners, Jill and Simon, are really welcoming and friendly, and very helpful with local information and advice. Litton itself is a beautiful village, with a well-equipped community shop a stone's throw away from the cottage and the Red Lion pub just opposite, where we had a very good dinner one evening. It's an excellent location for walking, cycling, and visiting many of the Peak District sites.

"Spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and very well equipped cottage in a good location."
We had a lovely short break here and were warm and cosy despite the snow outside. The road to the village was kept clear of snow and ice so we could have used the car if we had needed to but we had some lovely crisp, winter walks from the cottage instead. The village shop provided some basic necessities and the pub over the road was great for dinner one night. The cottage itself is extremely well maintained and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Simon and Jill were there to greet us and show us around and made us feel very welcome. I look forward to visiting in the future at a different time of year so that I can use the little garden at the back.

"Highly recommended, 5* cottage"
The cottage couldn't be better. Extremely well appointed with everything you could possibly want/need, there were even 2 folding bed boards for those needing a firmer mattress as well as a choice of duvet weights. Very warm, cosy & comfortable also spotlessly clean. Decorative order and furnishings are as new and very tasteful. The owners are very caring and friendly and keen to ensure that their cottage is up to scratch and that everything works. Would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting five star accommodation in spectacular countryside at an affordable price.

"Fantastic cottage in great location"
A spotlessly clean cosy cottage, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. Its position in the attractive village of Litton has walks directly from the cottage in all directions. The Wye valley and Monsal trail are within easy reach. We found the local history particularly interesting. In spite of it being a cold, wet, late November week, the cottage is particularly warm and we were impressed by the accomodation and storage for walking gear. The friendly village, especially its community run store, makes this an ideal introduction to Derbyshire.
