Located in the Heart of the Peak District - Luxury apartment in historic mill building located on the bank of the River Wye. On the Monsal Trail. Close to Litton & Tideswell. Prime walking area. Sleeps 6 (plus 1 infant) in 3 bedrooms. 3 en suites. Huge open plan living/kitchen/dining area. Fully equipped kitchen. Living Area 52" TV with Sky freeview, DVD player, Wifi. Master bedroom with 32" TV. Travel cot (own bedding req'd) & highchair at property. Linen & towels included in rent. 2 parking spaces available, sorry no pets & no smoking.

Normal arrival/departure day for a 7 night stay is Saturday.

Arrival is after 3pm.

Departure by 10am.

Keys will be posted to you approx. 10 days before arrival. In the case of a last minute booking, key arrangements will need to be agreed between us.

Short breaks available - minimum charge 3 nights (from £335) - Short Breaks in peak periods will only be accepted on a last minute basis.

30% deposit payable on booking - non refundable.

Balance payable 6 weeks before arrival.

If booking within 6 weeks full amount payable.

Booking will not be finally confirmed until deposit payment received.

The Heart of England/Peak District

It's in the Heart of the Peak District - what else is there to say!

The attractive village of Litton Mill is located on the River Wye just a few miles from the heart of the Peak District. The nearby village of Litton features a green complete with ancient wooden stocks, a community shop, and the 17th century Red Lion pub serving excellent home-cooked food. Litton Mill is situated on the Monsal Trail, and the area boasts spectacular views of the twin viaducts that once carried powerful steam locomotives from London to Manchester as part of the Midlands Line. The old line now forms an 8.5 mile walking/cycling trail that meanders along the hills above the River Wye.

Nearby Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its fine church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as The Cathedral of the Peak, Tideswell is also noted for its well dressing and carnival wakes, and has many fine country inns, a chemist, butchers, bakers and much more. There is excellent walking with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Miller’s Dale nearby. Mam Tor and Castleton are only a few miles away and the popular towns of Buxton and Bakewell are each a 15 minute drive.

"A beautiful apartment in a peaceful location"

The property is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and has a lovely view of the river. Our group included two young children and it was perfectly suitable for them, with only a few steps to the kitchen for them to contend with. The publicity photos of the apartment don't really do it justice as it was much larger than we were expecting. For anyone staying here we would recommend cycling the Monsal Trail, which was the highlight of our week. We would not hesitate to book this apartment again next time we stay in the Peak District.

"A characterful property, ideal as a base for walkers or for exploring the Peak District by car."

The property has an interesting history and is located right next to the river. It is located down a country lane that runs alongside the river. Lovely! There are plenty of walks right on the doorstep. The accommodation is spacious and well equipped. There are lots of places to eat out in the locality. We enjoyed meals out at Millers Dale, Ashford, Monsal Head and Buxton. There is alot to recommend this property.

"Outstanding apartment in beautiful location"

We have just spend our second Christmas at 6 Litton Mill. The apartment is luxurious, spacious, well furnished and fully equipped. The lounge and master bedroom are enormous. All the beds are extremely comfortable - perfect after a long day's walk! The apartment is beautifully located: Just cross the river, climb the embankment and you are on the Monsal Trail - great for some fabulous long walks. A short drive away are Castleton, Chatsworth and all the other gems of the Peak District. We cannot recommend the apartment highly enough. We will definitely be back!

"Luxurious winter break!"

I stayed at Litton Mill with my Mum, brother and boyfriend just before Christmas. Apart from the initial challenge of finding the place (the SatNav directed us up Worm Hill - a steep nightmare), our stay was perfect.

The apartment is much larger than it looks on photos, and the three bedroom, three bathroom set up was a real treat.

We took advantage of being next to the Monsal trail, and headed off for a day of walking. The scenery is beautiful in this area, and we were very lucky to miss the rain! We made it to Hassop Station cafe before turning back, which is a big complex with a book shop and plenty of food on offer. We also took a detour en route to visit a lovely cafe (great hot chocolate and little shop) climbing upwards off the main path, atop a viaduct. I can't remember the name , but it was signposted and about an hour into the walk from Litton.

We also ate at the Red Lion. The portions were massive and delicious!

The view of the water was exceptionally striking, and very atmospheric, especially in winter. A stunning location, and a lovely apartment in which to experience it. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing break, with the feeling of getting away from it all. Not having a phone signal helps!

The only slight niggle is the size of the towels provided. It's been commented on a fair few times in the guest book, and would really add to the luxury of the stay as a whole, as they are very small.

"Truely lovely appartment, very clean and quiet, very spacious."

A wonderfull peacefull stay at the apartment, very clean and well equiped. Weather was cold and wet when I stayed, but the big squishy couch and huge tv, made up for that. Lovely elaxing place to stay. would definatly return.

The apartment was very modern spacious well equipped lovely surrounding. Good for walkers wonderful for sightseeing or just chilling out defiantly be booking again.

"Peaceful location with lots to do close at hand."

The apartment is very spacious and gives a feeling of luxury. It is very well equipped, we had everything we needed. 3 bedrooms each with their own ensuite was a real bonus and makes this an ideal property for a group of friends, couples or several generations of 1 family. The location is ideal for walkers and cyclists with walks and cycle routes on the doorstep. This is a very central location for visiting the area as you are between Bakewell and Buxton and there is lots to do and see in the Peak district. There is only 1 road into Litton Mill so it feels quite remote but we rarely passed any other cars, there are plenty of passing places on the road in case you meet another car. The only thing we felt could improve this property is access to an outdoor seating area to make more use of the gorgeous river views and location.

"Great location for a restful holiday"

Spacious and clean accommodation in peaceful surroundings. View of the river from the lounge window. Great location for exploring the area - Chatsworth, Treak Cliff Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, Heights of Abraham, Monsal Trail. Easy to park as lots of spaces just outside the building. Garage also available - handy for securing our bikes.

"Superb Accomodation"

My family and I were absolutely surprised by the superb high quality of 6 Litton Mill. A great apartment; very large, high level of cleanliness with very good quality fittings and fixtures. If you are looking for 5 star quality and comfort, book this accommodation. Our thanks to Tricia and Gary.
