You'll have the best of all worlds at Pindars; a great location for spending time on the Sussex beaches, a home that is just two miles from the historic town of Arundel, easy access for you to enjoy the South Downs and if you want to stay put, a fabulous home and garden to relax in and enjoy.

This individually designed home makes an ideal base for a family vacation. Facing south, the beautiful gardens have been part of the National Garden Scheme for the last ten years and offer a serenity of different colours and shades that will help guests to completely unwind. The heated swimming pool available between the end of May and September is completely private allowing you to choose between time spent by the pool or time spent on the beach maybe at nearby Littlehampton or Climping. We do have to advise guests that as the pool extends to seven feet in depth, or approximately two metres Pindars is not suitable for families with young children under the age of ten.

The downstairs living space is beautifully bright and spacious with a large reception room just offset from the comprehensively equipped kitchen. From here the conservatory overlooks the gardens and the pool an ideal place to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. At the opposite end of the house there is a second more formal living room with doors opening onto the garden.

The house will sleep eight guests in four upstairs bedrooms. Three bedrooms are double rooms, one with a king sized bed, and the fourth is a twin bedroom. There are two ensuite shower rooms, a family bathroom with a shower fitted above the bath, and in the twin room there is a small cloakroom. The main bedroom has a magnificent south facing balcony that overlooks the gardens. A place for a cup of tea before breakfast possibly?

The West Sussex region

Lyminster is a small village immediately to the north of Littlehampton and within two miles of historic Arundel. The house is perfectly placed to enjoy so much within Sussex, offering an easy drive to Chichester to the west, and Worthing and Brighton to the east. As we have mentioned, the Sussex beaches are also close by with Climping being within three miles of the house.

Arundel only two miles away is a historic market town dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. The view as you approach Arundel from Pindars is impressive. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tearooms. It's a great place to visit and enjoy its hospitality.

Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for nearly 200 years. It is one of the great treasure houses of England and is home to priceless works of art in stunning rooms. Climbing the 131 steps to the Keep which dates from the 11th century to take in the views over Arundel and the South Downs is definitely worth the effort.

Beyond the castle grounds Arundel Park extends north towards the Downs offering many fine walks.

The River Arun winds its way around the town and is a magnet for wildlife. With more than 60 acres of ponds, lakes and reed beds, Arundel Wetland Trust attracts some of the world's most spectacular ducks, geese and swans. The best way to enjoy the river is on a river cruise stopping off at the Black Rabbit pub or proceeding further north where the river hugs the scarp wooded slope at the foot of the Downs before reaching Amberley.

Climping Beach and Littlehampton's West Beach are within a ten minute drive. This is a beautiful unspoilt length of beach of Special Scientific Interest and at the eastern end beside the mouth of the River Arun is the West Beach Café built by local craftsmen using materials sourced locally. It is worth a visit, the fish and chips come highly recommended!

If you fancy a day in the city, Arundel mainline station is on a direct route to London so why not mix the cosmopolitan capital with this great place to stay!

Sussex is in the south east of England stretching along the English Channel from Rye in the east to Chichester Harbour and Emsworth in the west with many fine blue flag beaches in between.

The chalk downland of the South Downs National Park cover a large part of Sussex from where they meet the sea at Beachy Head in East Sussex through to the Hampshire border near South Harting in the west.

Chichester is the cathedral city of Sussex and Brighton and Hove on the Sussex coast is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe. Arundel and Lewes are two historic towns within the county both have imposing castles and are popular towns to visit.

The climate enjoyed in Sussex is above the average for Great Britain, which makes it ideal for visiting throughout the year.
