Racing Greens has two apartments rated by VisitEngland. The Garden apartment is rated 4 star and the Beach apartment 4 star with a Gold award for quality.
Both have a different character and are individually styled with beach and seaside themes. However our aim for cleanliness and quality are the same. Both apartments have Wi-fi; central heating; Freeview TV; CD player, radio and DVD player. Kitchens are fully equipped with kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge-freezer, cooker, dishwasher and washing machine.
This is our BEACH APARTMENT. This is on the front of the house with 2 steps down from street level. As this is all on the same level it can be useful for those with mobility problems, but it is not fully wheelchair accessible.
Double patio doors open into the roomy lounge/diner. There is a daybed, which is a settee, or can be used as a single bed (with proper mattress - 3ft/0.9mtrs wide). There is another single bed for use here, or in the bedroom. There is also a settee, dining table and chairs, and 32” flat screen TV.
The bedroom can be used as a twin or triple room with 3 single beds (3ft/0.9mtrs wide) or 1 superking double bed (6ft/1.8mtrs wide), and a single.
There is room to add another single bed or stand your own travel cot if required.
There is a small central hallway to get to the bathroom with its large walk-in shower and toilet.
Our second apartment (see separate entry) is our GARDEN APARTMENT - accessed via the back garden. The garden is yours to enjoy and not shared with other guests. Garden table, chairs and barbeque are available.
There are 6 steps up from the garden into the apartment which was once the Victorian kitchen to the property.
The first room is the lounge / diner with its daybed, which is a settee, or becomes a single bed if required (3ft/0.9mtrs wide). There is another single bed for use here, or in the bedroom. Both of these single beds have proper mattresses. There are two easy chairs, dining table and chairs for four people. Flatscreen TV with freeview channels.
The double bedroom has a kingsize bed (5ft/1.5mtrs wide). If you need to add a child's bed or your own travel cot there is space but this is a little more cramped.
This bathroom has a corner bath with an over-shower and it is ensuite to the bedroom. Any guests in this apartment must walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom – please consider if this is acceptable for you.
There are 4 steps leading from the lounge into the kitchen which is fully equipped.
Off road parking is available in the nearby car park
The apartments are suitable for a variety of guests - single people, couples or families. On holiday or on business or between house moves. Racing Greens is a great place for several families to get together and with 2 rooms in our bed and breakfast we have played host to grandparents and other family members.

The West Sussex region
We have a wide range of visitor information and a great enthusiasm for West Sussex to help our guests discover the best of what is in the area, and experience a great stay.
West Sussex is home to an excellent selection of beautiful gardens, parks, and open spaces, from sandy beaches to the national Park of the South Downs.
If you have a car it is easy to explore but there is also a good rail service and we have great links along the coast via our local Stagecoach - Coastliner bus service (route 700) so that you can enjoy towns and attractions such as Arundel, Bognor Regis and Worthing.
Within 2 hours train journey to London, Littlehampton is a good place to use as a base and have a some days out in London. Or make a break from London for a short break by the sea.
You can mooch around endless museums and soak up history from Roman ruins and the Fishbourne roman palace at Chichester, or the magnificent Arundel castle, enjoy the social history of National Trust houses, and the naval heritage of Portsmouth. Travel to Brighton, Chichester and Portsmouth by train and its quick and easy with no parking worries!
Sports enthusiasts will know of horse racing events at the local race-courses of Fontwell, Goodwood, and Brighton which are within easy driving distance. The Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival are unique motor-racing events which attract spectators from all over the world. Racing Greens offers minimum 3-night breaks for these special events – but book early!
On England's south coast we have one of the best climates in the UK for sunshine and temperatures.
Racing Greens is within 200mtrs of the sandy Blue flag beach and the River Arun. The town is on the flat and offers opportunities to enjoy riverside walks, various water based activities; eating out and exploration of the area.
Families have long enjoyed making memories at Harbour Park – a family friendly Fun park in a fantastic location on the river side. Other favourites include adventure and mini-golf along the promenade; and boating on the Oyster pond. You can take a ride on the train along the promenade to reach Littlehampton's Miniature Railway in Norfolk Gardens; via Mewsbrook park, and the Inspire Leisure swimming centre.
Enjoy the River Arun by following the riverside path which goes as far as Arundel and on to the South Downs. Get across to the west bank and you can explore the West beach, an area of special natural interest. Or take a gentle trip along the river to Arundel, or go out to sea one of our local boats.
There are great opportunities for cycling and plenty of routes on the flat. As we are part of the EnjoyEngland Cyclists Welcome scheme we offer additional facilities e.g. equipment to wash cycles, and storage areas. There are also local specialists who hire out cycles and offer repair services.
There are great opportunities for kite surfing, fishing, diving, sea angling, and the Littlehampton marina and harbour welcomes sailors from many areas. There is a wide range of information for sea based activities on the Littlehampton Harbour website. Racing Greens is an avid supporter of the work of Littlehampton's RNLI volunteers, and you can visit Littlehampton's Lifeboat station and see the boats.
Live shows, concerts, theatre performances can be found in several local towns. You can also enjoy a live show or see the latest film at the Windmill Theatre nearby.
One of our favourite pastimes is looking for antiques and collectables. The area is popular for its antique shops and frequent fairs in various local venues – including major fairs at Goodwood, Fontwell and Worthing. Check out Arun Fairs for their programme.
Although the kitchen is fully equipped, eating out is one of the pleasures of a break away. There are a range of bars, cafes and restaurants with a tempting range of international cuisines, and of course - award winning "Fish & Chips".
You can walk to most places within the town and we can help with suggestions on where to eat.
The world renowned architect Thomas Heatherwick created the iconic East Beach Cafe on the beach and this is within easy walking distance - wine and dine on the seafront - no taxis or driving required!
