Listed on H L site in August 2013 Stable Cottage has achieved a high level of bookings during the seven years that it has been offered to clients with a strong repeat booking record and excellent feedback. We love children and dogs . Being on one level with a private patio garden the cottage is an ideal choice for families and their pet. We also have a very large field which dog owners are very welcome to use. WiFi .
The cottage is tucked away up a leafy lane in the picturesque village of Little Petherick only two miles south of the quaint fishing village of Padstow with it's choice of fantastic restaurants and pubs including Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant and cookery school, St Petroc,s Bistro , Rick Stein's cafe , Paul Ainsworth's Number Six Michelin star restaurant, Pescadou Fish Restaurant, and Margot's Bistro .
North Cornwall is known for it's beautiful beaches and the cottage is within approximately fifteen minutes drive from eight glorious beaches including Harlyn Bay for surfing, Porthcothan, Trevone Bay ideal for young children, Treyarnon Bay, Trevose, Booby's Bay, Constantine Bay, and Hawker's Cove only an eight minute drive away where your dog can enjoy a fantastic off- lead experience which is safe and fun. From here you can hop onto the foot ferry to Daymer Bay on the opposite side. You may just want to read , relax , swim or sunbathe, picnic ,wind surf or simply build sand castles- with so many beaches in the area the choice is yours.
Exploring the Cornish coastline by Kayak is simply breathtaking , flat calm seas and being able to discover secret coves and unspoilt beaches ,venture into otherwise inaccessible caves and paddle through lagoon like gullies. North Cornwall is host to a wealth of marine and birdlife , you may be lucky enough to see Dolphins, Seals, Puffins, Sea Lemons to name but a few. Sea Kayaking is a must .
Rock Climbing is a fantastic experience for first timers ,this is a fun day out for all ages and confidence levels.
For children there is much to see and do including, Flambards, Dairy Land, Crealy's Adventure , Spring Fields Pony Centre, Cycling the Camel Trail ,Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Land's End and Old Macdonalds Farm. Learn how to make bread at Tom's Bakery in Wadebridge which also offers a Cinema and Lesiure Centre. Riding Stables at St Merryn for all levels with beach rides to Harlyn Bay.
The cottage is on one level and offers light and spacious accommodation sleeping up to four people with it's own private patio garden. The property was converted from the former stables boasting high ceilings , original beams in the sitting room/ kitchen , reclaimed oak flooring, wood burner and double doors from the master bedroom and sitting room opening onto it's own secure private patio garden. WiFi. Children and well behaved dogs very welcome.The cottage offers a spacious sitting room / kitchen with Wood Burner, HD Samung Flatscreen, HD Samsung dvd player, selection of dvd's and board games for guests to enjoy. One master bedroom with Vintage wash basin French Antique Armoire, doors opening onto patio area with teak table and chairs and barbecue. Twin bedroom offering two single beds and Vintage washbasin, chest of drawers etc. Between the two bedrooms is a bathroom with bath with telephone style taps at one end as well as a separate shower cubicle with power shower. Well equipped kitchen supplied with the items listed as well as good crockery etc. Mamas and Papas travel cot supplied on request . Highchair, changing mat , nappy bucket etc available if required. Babysitting by arrangement.
Not only does Padstow offer a truly tempting choice of restaurants and pubs, but here you will also find art galleries tucked away down little side streets, homemade pasties at the renowned Chough's Bakery and a selection of great little shops including boutiques Sea Salt , Fat Face, White Stuff, Joules and Rick Stein's gift shop, patisserie and fish and chips and much more. Stock up your fridge and buy delicious treats for a picnic on the beach from the award winning Padstow Farm shop which have their own butcher selling home reared meat, local cheeses, home grown pasta, vegetables and salad, smoked fish, home reared bacon and sausages, locally made yoghurt and muesli, speciality breads, Free Range eggs, cakes, Cornish produce galore!
The area is a mecca for food lovers and Nathan Outlaw has achieved no less than two Michelin stars at his restaurant in Rock , he also has a grill and bar which is tried and tested by us and to be highly recommended.
For those who enjoy great walks look no furthur as we are on the Saint's Way and one of many walks to be recommended is from the village car park along the creek , across fields to Padstow, about an hour and a quarter.
Cycling enthusiasts may pick up the Camel Trail from Padstow and enjoy the stunning scenery to Bodmin.
Cornwall is steeped in history and there are many historic houses and National Trust properties and gardens to see. These include Lanhydrock House, Trerice Manor, Godolphin House, Cotehele, :Pencarrow House, Prideaux Place, Trelissick , Lost Gardens of Heligan, Glendurgan, and Trengwainton Gardens amongst others.
There is something for everyone in this part of Cornwall . We look forward to meeting you.

The Cornwall region
In the past ten years or so the region has become something of a mecca for food lovers offering fine dining at Michelin starred restaurants such as Nathan Outlaw at Rock and Paul Ainsworth at Number Six restaurant in Padstow. Closer to home in the next door village of St Issey is the Ring o Bells which serves the best Sunday roast for miles around!
Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall at Watergate Bay is only about twenty minutes away in a spectacular setting over looking the vast beach, .During the summer Polo is played here on the beach itself and attracts quite a crowd.
Padstow annually hosts the Obby Oss festival of ancient origin. Fowey is home to the annual Daphne du Maurier festival. Each year during December Padstow hosts a special Christmas Shopping few days.
It' also worth knowing that Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant and St Petroc's Bistro in Padstow offer three course menus for an amazing price in aid of charity which usually runs from November to April.
For younger members of the family there are many places to visit , Newquay Zoo, Crealy's Adventure Park, Springfields Pony Centre, Flambards, Dairyland, to mention but a few. Horseriding at nearby stables within a ten minute drive. Riding for all levels including rides out to the beach at Harlyn Bay.
The Eden Project is very impressive and you can easily spend a day there without getting bored. During the Winter is an indoor ice rink for skaters.
The immediate area is within easy reach of eight fantastic beaches which include Harlyn Bay known for it's surfing, Contantine Bay , Porthcothan, Trevose , Trevone Bay to name but a few. The climate is mild as it is part of the Gulf Stream and there really is something for everyone to enjoy here while on holiday.
The renown Trevose golf course is on the door step and St Enodoc golf course at Rock is about twenty minutes away. The Camel Trail may be picked up from Padstow where you can hire bicycles.
The privately owned historic houses Pencarrow House at Washaway and Prideaux Place at Padstow are open during the week Rosamunde Pilcher fans will know that some of the episodes were filmed .
Wadebridge offers not only a selection of very good shops but also a weekly indoor market in the Town Hall, an excellent four screen Cinema, Doctor's surgery , Tom's Bakery specializing in artisan style breads, various little places to eat , good pub food , and a leisure centre with indoor pool.
Furthur along down is the Minack Theatre about an hour and a quarter away as well as the Porthminster Cafe at St Ives which sits comfortably overlooking the beach - booking essential.
As already mentioned there is something for everyone here from gourmet cuisine to traditional English pubs or relaxed days with a picnic and a good book on one of the many accessible beautiful beaches in the area.
Walkers will not be disappointed as we are on the Saints Way .
