The County Kerry region

Visit County Kerry and discover why the Kingdom is a great Irish holiday destination. From its rolling green countryside, sandy beaches, spectacular golf courses, relaxing rural long and short distance walks, to engaging historical monuments and a life on stage that combines songs and tales of Ireland’s rural past, North Kerry is the hidden treasure of the beautiful South West.

Rain or sunshine outside, the younger visitor has a broad variety of all weather attractions they can enjoy, like exploring the underground in Crag Cave, riding in the indoor rapids at the Aqua Dome, experiencing times past at the Kerry County Museum and discovering a unique form of travel aboard the Lartigue Monorail.

The Kerry Literary & Cultural Centre is located in a 19th-century Georgian House in the Square, Listowel. One can listen to the seanchai explaining the ancient art of storytelling. An audiovisual tour through historic North Kerry with the writers is taken. More can also be learned about such greats as John B Keane, Brian MacMahon and George Fitzmaurice.

Nearby Ballybunion hosts two highly acclaimed links courses. Former host to the Irish Open, the Old Course ranks among the world‘s top ten courses. With massive dunes on the shores of the Atlantic, the Old Course is a magnificent test of the golfer.

Ballybunion, Kerry’s premier seaside resort, boasts fine Blue Flag beaches, cliff walks, two world-class golf links courses, equestrian and angling attractions - all centred round a town that has lots to entertain.

Bars and restaurants using the best of local fresh produce serve Irish and International cuisine. Ballybunion is also renowned for its seaweed baths - long credited with curing a variety of ailments, and also a great way to unwind, improve skin tone and pamper yourself.

"Very suitable for a family group."

Very comfortable and clean large bungalow. Slight problem with water pressure on the end of the pipe run in wash basin, but showers and all other equipment is very good. Games room and large garden provided hours of fun for all and the conservatory was a place to relax.
