The Province of Munster region
The Sunny South East is the driest area in Ireland and has most of the built-culture outside of Dublin.
Mountains, ocean, major rivers and sports for all - from Ireland's first surf-school - to some of the best walking in the country. Fishing - at sea, rivers and lakes, excellent cycling along rivers and coasts, heritage and culture.
We are 18kms from some great beaches and coves but at the foot of the mountains and overlooking The Blackwater River. There are many castles and gardens around to visit - some next door! Salterbridge House.
Lismore is one of Ireland's Heritage Towns and has a tourist centre in the courthouse and runs various exhibitions and schools promoting local man Robert Boyle (father of modern chemistry) and much else besides.
Lismore has a good music and theatre scene with traditional music sessions every Thursday (at least) and good restaurants and walks.
Glenribbeen is 15 minutes walk from Lismore along a good wide road with footpath.

"relaxing and welcoming"
I couldn't speak highly enough of this apartment. It was spotless and had everything we needed.
Peter and Elsje were so welcoming and helpful with everything and my 8 year old daughter was made to feel so relaxed in their company and she learned so much from peter that she keeps asking when can she go back and do more archery.
Many thanks Shirley - happy you were happy.
Hope to see you back next year - I've another 2 bows made since that will please madam and today I've made my first stone-age flint arrow - I know she's love.
Thanks for the gifts - Els was really touched - I got tipsy :-)
