About the home

Set in 1 acre of level gardens set mainly to grass and shrubs and cornish hedges.
We have two ensuite double bedrooms with four poster beds,one being king-sized, and a third bedroom with twin beds and just down over the stairs is a modern bathroom.
Fully equipped cottage kitchen with dishwasher oven, fridge and freezer.
Separate dining room and cosy lounge.
Digital television and dvd player and radio.
There is also a box of games and playing cards to entertain and books to read.

All cottages are available as a whole, just add the prices together.
You would need ALL THREE properties to sleep 12 persons.
You would need Beechwood Cottage and Little Beechwood to sleep 10 persons.
You can have which combination you like to suit your own requirements

The cottage has beamed ceilings through-out the ground floor and exposed beams in the bedrooms, there is also two multi-fueled cast-iron fires in the lounge and dinning room ,logs supplied at £5.00 per basket .the interior is large and airie for a cottage with a cosy feel.

The garden is set in one acre, and mainly lawned with trees and shrubs, there is an apple orchard at the far end.There is also a small pond in the middle of the garden with seating around (those with young children be aware)and surrounded by flower beds and shrubs.There is a patio area in front of the cottage with a B.B.Q. and garden table and chairs.This garden is in the sun for most of the day. PLEASE NOTE:it can sometimes be shared by other guests who have booked our other two holiday lets.Opposite the cottage across a road is a large football pitch with a park ,which includes swings,slide and see-saw.
Local Pub is 400 yards from our door which has local ales and serves food.

Beechwood Cottage is central placed to access west devon and plymouth also north cornwall.
The Eden project is only 1hr away, Looe, Polperro, Whitsands, Kingsands, Cawsands a mere stone throw away.

The Liskeard / St Ive area

St Ive which is pronounced (eve) not to confused with St Ives, is a small village in south east cornwall, which has a church which has been built on the grounds of an earlier knights templar church, there is also a chapel.
We have also a 16th century pub just 400 yards from our property.

“What an absolute delight to stay here” Beechwood cottage proved to be the perfect place to stay. We were attending a family christening in Liskeard and needed 3 bedrooms. The cottage was everything we wanted, spotlessly clean with every facility you could want, an excellent kitchen and dining room. The bedrooms were very well appointed and the beds very comfortable. The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived having driven through the snow from Wales. “Good ... but,” Accommodation was roomy and very pleasant but there were a few drawbacks. FIrstly, other than a reference to sharing the garden with the owners, there is no mention in the cottage details about the other holiday lets next door who also share the garden. Secondly, the parking is wholly inadequate and a bit of a nightmare. The owners themselves use it (large van parked there most days) and the other holidaymakers which did lead to a slight bump one evening. Thirdly, although the owner provides most things, one thing not provided is loo roll and as only one loo had a new roll in it when we arrived, we'd run out of it in the ensuites by day two. Not a big thing in itself but when you're on holiday, especially with young children, you don't want to be bothered with remembering to pick up loo roll when you go out exploring. Response: Sorry about the loo rolls. This is a multi complex of accommodation with one acre of gardens enough for all to enjoy,which is quite clear on Holiday Lettings site. Yes sometimes the parking is tight, but if you had listened to your wife and not tried to get in a gap that was obviously too small after a night out on the beer you would not have upset my other guest.

“A lovely, spacious cottage, very comfortable and well equipped with a good sized garden, ideal for families.” Our family really enjoyed our stay at Beechwood Cottage. The property was very comfortable , clean and tidy and offered good value.The owners live on site and whilst being very helpful and available if needed, they were not at all obtrusive. This is a good base for touring the local area and beaches both on the North and South Coasts. There is plenty to do for families in the area and the garden at the cottage offers plenty of space and interest for outside games. Response: Many thanks for you kind response and for booking with us.We do try to keep out of our guest way and that includes the garden, as we have our own veranda which looks out to Caradon hill and a sunset which can't be veiwed so well from our holiday lettings.

“excellant period cottage with everything you need” we stopped at beechwood cottage for a week in june, my partner, 2 children and parents. The cottage itself is excellant, very spacious and well decorated. the 2 double bedrooms are delightful, with 4 poster beds and on suite showers and toilets. the ground around the cottege are also very good, with room for the kids to play safely and there is a playground just across the road. Everything was provided down to cling film and tinfoil at the cottage. richard and june were very friendly and always on hand if we needed anything. the only negative is if you want privacy, the owners live 20 yards away overlooking the cottage and there is another smaller cottage attached within the same grounds, but that didnt bother us one bit. there also is a very nice local pub within walking distance which does excellant food. shops and other facilities are only approx 4 miles away including 2 supermarkets. overall it was an excellant base for us as we were out on trips most days.
