About the home

'Splink 'View is ideal for two families. The house is spacious and extremely comfortable covering approx 2,000sq ft. The views of the bay are breathtaking from the decking/barbecue area and from the sun lounge area of the living room.The house is a few minutes walk from all amenities and is ideal as a base for discovering the many interesting sights in Clare, Kerry and Galway.

Liscannor is a stones throw from the world famous 'Burren'. There are many walks that one can enjoy and there's nothing nicer than returning to LIscannor in the evening and sampling good food, traditional music and of course the Guinness. Impromptu sing alongs regularly occur with locals and holiday makers many of whom are very talented.

The County Galway / County Clare / County Clare region

There are many places of interest in the Clare region. Bunratty Castle 40min from Liscannor and only 10min from Shannon Airport is within the top 10 ten visitor attractions in Ireland. Not far from Bunratty is 'Craggaunowen', Ireland's original award winning prehistoric park, situated on 50acres of wooded grounds.

4kms from Liscannor is the magnificent Cliffs of Moher and O'Briens Tower. The cliffs rise in places to over 210m and stretch for about 8km. The Burren, bordered by the Atlantic and the quieter water of Galway Bay is a rock garden which extends for about 100sq miles and most of it is bare, pale grey limestone. There are many beautiful and rare flowers in the crevices and pastures.

The Clare Heritage Centre is housed in St. Cahterines Church in Corofin and was built in 1718. The Burren Smokehouse and the Burren Perfumery and flower Centre are both worth a visit. The Aillwee Caves in Ballyvaughan are a dramatic spectacle of nature on the edge of the Burren and a visit is a must for anyone visiting the area.

Driving along the coast towards Galway you will enjoy the spectacular view of Galway Bay. Galway City is a beautifully city to stroll around. Heading South from Liscannor one can get the ferry from Kilrush to Kerry which has many towns of interest, particularly 'Dingle' which is also a beautiful coastal town.

The Liscannor / Cliffs of Moher area

Liscannor is a great base for visiting the many historical and beautiful sights of Counties Clare, Kerry, Galway and Limerick. Heading north, the famous Cliffs of Moher are approx 4km from Liscannor. Doolin, famous for its traditional music, Lisdoonvarna famous for its match making in September, The beautiful 'Burren', and Ballyvaughan are a must.

Lahinch famous for both its Golf Links and Beach ( surfing )is 3km from Liscannor. Further west is' Doonbeg' another famous golf Links and Spa. Kilkee is another seaside town with a horseshoe bay. If one wants to get the ferry from Clare to Kerry one must travel to Kilrush, not too far from Kilkee.

The local activities include; Walking, surfing, golf and horse riding. The local pubs and hotels have entertainment mostly at weekends but regularly impromptu sessions take off.
