The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Climate: hot and dry with mild nights so you can eat "al fresco". Rest of the time is mild. Go to the site "" and have an update of all that is going on: expositions, museums, sites to visit, places to eat, places to shop. In the site chose BAIRRO ALTO PRINCIPE REAL. This encompasses the Bairro Alto

Sintra is outside Lisbon but it is a "must"

Lisbon has lots of great historical sights and museums to visit, as well as various parks and lots of attractive streets to explore. You can enjoy some traditional food at one of the many restaurants, relax at a local bar or go on trips to some of the nearby towns and villages.

"Perfect location, well appointed apartment"

As first time travellers to Lisbon we would recommend taking a taxi from outside the airport terminal as this will only cost you approx. 12 Euros - suggestion to travel light as the apartment is on th… More

"First rate service from Aida"

My husband and I stayed in Aida's flat for a week in November this year. The flat itself is very clean and comfortable and, although situated in a quiet road, it is only a few minutes away from … More

"Excellent accommodation in a great location."

I don't think we can add much to the previous glowing reviews - just to say they do not exaggerate. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen and bathroom are very well equipped. The location is excellent - in a quiet street but close to the attractive centre of activity. There are cafes, restaurants and you can walk down to the river. Aida is very helpful and takes a lot of trouble to welcome her guests. Lisbon is very interesting - lots of places to visit and locals are friendly and helpful.

"Good location for restaurants, quiet location, but only about a ten minute walk to the large square."

I can only echo everything that has been said about this apartment and the owner Aida. Aida was extremely helpful, taking us on a little tour of the surrounding area and pointing out good restaurants… More

"Covenient location with a very helpful owner."

We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay. Aida was very helpful, meeting us from a late flight and still giving lots of her time to explain and help us to settle in. The bottle of wine and cakes were most appreciated!

The apartment had everything we needed and was well stocked with day to day needs.
So many good restaurants within easy walking distance meant we didn't use the apartment's kitchen facilities much at all but we wanted for nothing.

Such an easy central location for all the tourist sites with tram, ferries, train station all within walking distance.

Although there is much to see and do, our best memories are when taking time to simply sit and watch Lisbon life at our own a gentle pace.

All told, an excellent place to spend time.

"Aida's Flat."

Stayed in Aida's apartment for four nights on our first trip to Lisbon.
From the minute Aida's welcomed us to the apartment with coffee and cakes which was
very welcoming. The apartment was excellent with everything provided you could not wish for anything more it was like home from home. Aida very kindly gave us a short tour of the area pointing out the shops, bars, restaurants and transportation. The city is so easy to get around with the trams, buses and metro lines all within a short walk from the apartment. Would highly recomend this apartment. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Christine and Gus Boston.

Dear Gus and Christine,

Thank you for the review. I´m glad that you found my apartment a home from home because that it is my aim! You should enjoy your holidays without any worries and have a nice place to go back to: that is what I´m striving for. Hope to see you again in a near future.

"Fabulously located, attractive apartment with a lovely helpful owner!"

We loved staying in Aida's apartment. It's spacious, immaculate, modern, bright and attractive and was a lovely place for the family to chill out when we weren't sightseeing. We thought we would only be 'crashing out' there, but it was better than the photos online (the kitchen was a particularly nice surprise!). So we spent more time there than planned, bringing back takeaways from local restaurants and even cooking simple meals as there were good shops nearby.

We felt very lucky to find somewhere so centrally located and yet so quiet- the best of both worlds. It's in a virtually silent, tiny back street and it's hard to believe that it's situated right behind the famous #28 tram route and part of the fun Barrio Alto area full of buzzing fado clubs and restaurants. In one direction we were minutes walk from one of the beautiful miradours where we could peacefully breakfast at its typical café while overlooking sensational views. In another direction, we could walk into the buzzing centre of town in a few minutes and start sightseeing or window shopping straight away.

Not only was it a lovely, well-located apartment, but Aida was terrifically helpful- from sending us a message beforehand to print for our taxi driver to effortlessly find his way, to warmly greeting us on our arrival and giving us lots of ideas of how to live like Lisboans for a week (providing cheap mobile phones for each of us and getting us started with travelcards, for example) Our children can find all this info a big drag, but they fell in love with Aida! She made sure we really would call her if we needed help, day or night, but there was no need. So apart from a quick call to us checking we were ok after a bad storm, she didn't reappear until our last day to organise our taxi and help us on our way. The perfect hostess!
