Home description
The apartment is where we go and relax and enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle in the heart of the old city. Easy access to the airport by taxi or public transport allows a quick and simple arrival allowing you to really enjoy a weekend break. Having been recently renovated and with a terrace for BBQ's it is really setup for enjoying the home after a tiring day exploring. Otherwise the local amenities such as restaurants and bars mean that every mood is catered for. The city has a great nightlife, many within walking distance.
One bedroom which has a fold away cot is situated in the rear of the apartment with a fully equipped kitchen and dining room that seats up to six. The daybed/sofa sleeps another person and the apartment has internet access, TV and a lovely view of the street from the French doors at the front of the apartment.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
Lisbon could be described as the new Barcelona, with beautiful beaches a short train journey away in Estoril with its Casino and other sites. Nearby to Estoril is the famous Sintra where the Kings and Queens used to take their summer holidays: well worth visiting.
Lisbon / Central Lisbon area
A short walk down the stairs out the front of the apartment building takes you to the Praça da Figueira where you can sit and have a drink in the square and watch the world go by. This is also where the closest Metro station is situated which gives you access to the entire city and surrounding beach towns.
The Castelo Sao Jorge is located within 5 minutes walk of the apartment. Sitting on the hill top overlooking the centre of Lisbon it is one of the must see sites of the city. (http://www.castelosaojorge.egeac.pt)
There is an abundance of golf course around the city with such as: Lisbon Sports Club, Golf do Estoril and Qunita de Marina.
Fado is the traditional folk music of Portugal and it is highly recommended to visit one of the local establishments such as Restaurante O Forcado.
A favourite place to go for a drink at sunset is what we affectionately call the "Lisbon Beach": 5 minutes walk from the apartment on top of the Mercado do Chão do Loureiro is the O Terraco which is a large terrace that looks out over the city.
Start with the following link to see the sites that are easily within walking distance of the apartment which include: Castelo Sao Jorge, São Cristóvão Church, Santa Justa Elevator and the Carmo Convent Ruins. How to get there
Easyjet flies from Gatwick, Stansted and Luton. British Airways and TAP both fly from Heathrow. Also check out: German Wings, BMI Baby, and Lufthansa and take a look at: Expedia.com, Lastminute.com, Opodo.com
After arriving at Lisbon International Airport there are really two options: taxi (10 euro) or bus. There is an Aerobus which travels into the city and stops nearby to the apartment: there is a hill to climb however as we are up near the Castle.
