The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Boasting springtime temperatures during the winter and cool summers freshened by a breeze blowing in from the Atlantic, Costa de Lisboa, on the southwestern coast, offers a rich and impressively integrated diversity. The capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147, Lisbon is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of History. Radiant skies brighten the monumental city, with its typical tile covered building façades and narrow Medieval streets, where one can hear the fado being played and sung at night. But Lisbon is also the stage for popular festivities, the place for exquisite shopping, exciting nightlife, and interesting museums, a place from where motorways branch off in different directions.

Lisbon's position on seven low hills beside a river once lured traders and settlers, and it's still a stunning site. Add to that its cultural diversity, laid-back feel and architectural time warp, and you have one of the most enjoyable cities in Europe - and also one of the most economical.

At its heart are wide, tree-lined avenues graced by Art Nouveau buildings, mosaic pavements and street cafes. Seen from the river - one of the city's many great viewpoints - Lisbon is an impressionist picture of low-rise ochre and pastel, punctuated by church towers and domes.

The city is a mix of vibrant blue and white azulejos (painted tiles), cobblestoned laneways, wildly extravagant Manueline architecture, melancholy fado singing, funiculars, fun and more than a touch of the medieval. Elegant, pretty and with an appetite for life, Lisbon will seep into your soul until you too are filled with saudade for her.

- Fly to Lisbon- The flat is just 10 km from the airport
- Cheap flights available from TAP to Lisbon airport
- Car hire available from www.premiercarhire.co.uk
- Local buses run regularly between the airport and Sete Rios
- There are always local taxis available - but be wary as they may try to overcharge tourists. Fare should be no more than 20 euros.

Note that changeover day is Saturday and minimum rental period is one week (Shorter stays, from 3 days, possible). A monthly rate is negotiable in the winter months from November to February. Payment details are shown in our inquiry follow up letter, copy of which will be provided on request.
A 15% deposit is required on booking and the balance is payable 8 weeks prior to departure. A refundable damage deposit of £50 per week rental is also required (refundable within 2 weeks of return). Prices given are base on a group of 4 adults and 1 or 2 young children. Charges apply for larger parties.
Broadband Access is available on request and charged separately

Conditions

A 15% deposit is required on booking and the balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. A £50 refundable security deposit is also required, refundable within 2 weeks of return.
Included in the rental rates are:
Bed linens and towels provided on arrival and changed on a weekly basis.
All utility charges.
