Home description

This one bedroom apartment is located on the 1st floor, building with a lift in a quiet residential area with restaurants, coffee shops and supermarket on its doorstep. It is 10 minutes walk from the centre of this beautiful village with the impressive Palace of Marques de Pombal and its beautiful gardens where you can just have a walk or relax and travel back to the past.
Oeiras is on the coast between Lisbon and Cascais, it is 15 minutes on the train to each side and it is really worth it to take the train as it runs along the coast and in some parts it almost feels as if the train is running on the top of the sea.
The apartment is 20 minutes walk to the beach and Marine. The beach is well kept and supervised at all times by lifeguards; there is also an Oceanic Pool with all the facilities and a Marine with many night bars and restaurants.
To get around there are regular buses going to the train station. Taxis are fairly cheap in Portugal and an easy way to get around.
The flat has a double bedroom, bathroom with shower and bath, fully equipped kitchen, living room with single sofa bed, table with four chairs, TV with DVD.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Boasting springtime temperatures during the winter and cool summers freshened by a breeze blowing in from the Atlantic, Costa de Lisboa, on the southwestern coast, offers a rich and impressively integrated diversity. The capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147, Lisbon is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of History.

Nearby, Sintra's lush wooded heights and verdant charms invite one to take a ride on a horse-pulled carriage, and gaze at the marvelous manor-houses, located within the grounds of century old farms, as one drives up to Pena Palace, built by Fernando Cobourg Gothas on the ruins of a monastery from the 16th century, the style of the palace is a blend of Gothic, Manueline, and Romantic influences which make for a very explosive combination, and keeps the atmosphere of a royal residence.

Lisbon / Oeiras area

Oeiras offers a range of new attractions and sites of interest, from the Fábrica da Pólvora (a former gunpowder factory from the 16th century which has been recovered for leisure and cultural purposes) to the Poets Park (a vast green space with statues of Portuguese poets and writers) and the Palace of the Royal Estate at Caxias, dating from the 18th century and surrounded by wonderful gardens.

Visitors may also benefit from different leisure and sports facilities, such as the sports complex of Jamor, the Maritime Walk (a seaside promenade to link Algés to the Torre beach, still unfinished) or the modern marina at Oeiras, prepared to welcome sixty ships, besides other parks and gardens.

The historical centres of several towns have also been recovered and display monuments and sites of interest in picturesque and pleasant settings, often including good restaurants, as is the case of Paço de Arcos.

Guestbook

RON STORER - 20th July to 28th July

We enjoyed our stay very much. We particularly liked the peacefulness and felt very secure. We thought the Marine was lovely and the Park of Poetas, we found the buses and trains very efficient and we were very central. I can't think of a bad thing to say except we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much.

JONATHAN AND SUE BIBBY - 8th July to 15th July

"The apartment is in a nice and quiet part of town, approx 10-15mins walk from the train station through a beautiful park. With a supermarket and a small restaurant/bar over the road, the essentials are covered.
The apartment is well maintained, with all you need for a weekend break or a 2 week holiday.
If you want busy, this isn't for you, if you want quiet to sleep, but close to local amenities, it is.
Ideal located between the city and Cascais, with its own local beach, this is the best place we found.
Plus the owner is lovely, she even called us when we were there to make sure everything was ok... 10/10"

MISS S GERMAN - 11th to 18th June

Thank you very much for your help and the apartment, we had a really fantastic holiday and hope to visit Portugal again maybe next year to see a bit more of it.

MR JD BROWNLEE- 26th April to 4th May

A great apartment with everything you need for a week or two away. Very cosy and comfortable and great for relaxing. Lots of room so you certainly don't feel cluttered. A quiet area where you can relax but restaurants, bars and shops are easily accessible. There is a great cheap supermarket 2 minutes away which really helps. The sea and beach are just 15 minutes away and the walk there is lovely as you are able to see the lovely village of Oeiras. There are lots of cafes and restaurants to enjoy a traditional Portuguese meal for very little money in the town. It's even worth just walking around and seeing some of the old buildings and narrow streets. A unique destination as it is very Portuguese with very few tourists so you can get really emersed into the culture surrounding the area. If you want to get away for a week, there is no better place. You can leave everything behind and just enjoy the sun, sea and a fantastic culture. A great place to go.
