The apartment and its garden has been recently renovated by an arquitect. It preserved all its antique characteristics, which allows you to feel the old town mood. It is located in a typical and popular neighbourhood, where "fado" began. From there you can walk to the historical monuments, you can catch the mytical "28" old tram and you cand shop around in little local shops. And,if you feel tired, you can reach Costa da Caparica's spectacular beach in one hour.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
Costa de Lisboa has lots of beaches: Carcavelos, Guincho, Costa da Caparica. They are just a few quilometres away from the apartment. The climate is spectacular, with warm temperatures. In October you can still have a nice day in the beach. You can find there lots of surfers all over the year. There is also the historical and famous village "Sintra", 30 Km. away from Lisbon, that Lord Byron or Marguerite Yourcenar used to visit. The sun, the sea and Lisbon charm are the spotlights of the region.
Lisbon / Central Lisbon area
In Lisbon there are a lot of places to visit. Near the apartment you have Sanit Geoge's Castle and its old surroundings: Alfama, Santa Clara (where the Flea Market is located), Mouraria and Graça. Here you have the most beautiful sights from Lisbon and its river "Tejo". The oldest monuments, as Sé de Lisboa, Mosteiro de S. Vicente de Fora and Panteão Nacional, are at walking distance. In June, 13th, there is the city festival (Santo António), which takes place in this neighbourhood. From here you can quickly reach the nightlife from Bairro Alto, with all its fancy restaurants and bars.
How to get there
- fly to Lisbon Airport, just 5 km away from the apartment; - you have cheap flights available from various companies, namely Easyjet, Fly Monarch and Thomson Fly; - local taxis are available at any time; its fare should be no more than 15 euros; and it should take you home in less than half an hour; - the apartment is located in the street "Calçada de Santo André", in the historical centre of Lisbon, near Saint George's Castle; this street leeds to the square Martim Moniz, where you can find a subway station ("Martim Moniz"). It has an easy access to down town ("Baixa") and to Alfama. You can reach all theses historical and typical places just walking from the apartment.
