This studio in Bairro Alto, 2minutes from Chiado, is an apartment of 31sq m and has a modern white decoration. It has a sofa bed, a double bed, a round table with two chairs, a kitchen and a bathroom and has air conditioning.
The bathroom is naturally lighted, has a basin and a bath tub.
The kitchen is fully equipped.

Bairro Alto is considered Lisbon's Soho - Bohemian atmosphere in one of the most picturesque distritcts of the city where you can discover many trendy/ alternative shops.

In walking distance: Pharmacy, Chiado, Maconic, Archaeological Museums. The Opera House ( S. Carlos), the wellkown coffee shop Brasileira ( Art Nouveau decoration, once popular with writers and intellectuals), Port Wine Mansion, S. Roque Church and Museum, Carmo Convent, S. Pedro Alcantara Garden, Gloria Elevator etc.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Costa de Lisboa, on the southwestern coast, offers a rich and impressively integrated diversity. The capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147, Lisbon is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of History.
Within easy reach from Baixa Chiado tube station you can get to Cais do Sodré and from there catch a train to Cascais ( 30m). The train drives along the Atlantic coast and you can see a wide variety of beautiful beaches of golden sand where you can lie down and get some sun. Main stops: Oeiras, Carcavelos, Estoril ( where the famous European Casino is) and Cascais ( where several European Kings lived in exile).
In Cascais you can: play golf, sail, ride horses, windsurf, row, ride a bicycle among other sports.
Near Cascais is Sintra (world heritage) with its fabulous Pena Palace (1839), the Moors Castle, Quinta da Regaleira, Capuchos Convent, Monserrate Palace etc.

The Lisbon / Central Lisbon area

The St George's Castle and Mouraria is one of the oldest quarters in Lisbon on the top of the hill . Adjacent to the Mouraria are the likewise old quarters of Alfama. Every year in June, the streets of all three quarters come alive with the feasts in honour of the popular saints ( St António - 12 June). Bairro Alto is also wonderfully lively at night - lots of restaurants, fado houses and late night bars/ clubs.
In front of Tejo river (Tagus), the visitor can't miss Torre de Belém ( Tower from the 15 century) and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos ( from the 16/17 century in Manueline Style). Also, nearby the river in Alcantâra there are plenty of fashion restaurants and bars in a place called Docas (docks).

What can I say : after 2 years living in this fabulous environment of Bairro Alto in a wonderful apt with the best landlady in Lisbon, it is not easy to leave. I lived in 8 different countries and I have never found anything in Europe that is similar! One of the many things I enjoyed here is inviting friends to visit Lisboa for the first time and then taking them to wonderful restaurants ,showing them the sights and then finishing the evening in Bairro Alto amongst the plentiful bars and watching their amazement at the hordes of happy people drinking in the streets with no aggravation, just good natured human spirits!! Once you have been here you don't want to come back

Living in this apartment for the last four months is one of the main reasons why I 've loved my time in Lisbon.!
Central location - huge selection of bars and modern - design shops which are open until late.
The city centre of Baixa is only a few steps walk through the nicest area of the city. A metro station is also nearby.
The apartments is fully equipped with good - quality appliances (fridge,gas kitchen,microwave oven,washing machine, iron,hair dryer. Special mention has to be made to the flat- screen tv which also provides cable channels and also to the air condition (is very silent too).
Overall I was very satisfied and I would highly recommend the place to all short and long term visitors in Lisbon
