About the home

This city centre modern apartment is set in a recently rebuild building in old historic Lisbon. This bright, daylight filled, 5th floor apartment is located in Rua Garrett, one of the most important streets of historic Lisbon, has a privilege situation in the heart of the cultural and historical part of the city (Chiado), very close to several museums, operas, theatres and churches.

Accommodation comprises one bedroom with a queen size bed, a second room with 2 single beds, living room with dining and sitting areas, two full bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen. The total apartment area is 110 sqm. The apartment has air-conditioning and central heating in all the rooms. This privileged location offers easy access by foot to the subway (Chiado/Baixa station – 50 m). We will welcome you with a nice bottle of wine, coffee and tea ready for you and some biscuits.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Bears the mark of an incredible heritage with laid-back pride. The city also presents an intriguing variety of faces to those who negotiate its switchback streets. In the oldest neighbourhoods, stepped alleys are lined with pastel-colour houses and crossed by laundry hung out to dry; here and there miradouros (vantage points) afford spectacular river or city views. In the grand 18th-century centre, black-and-white mosaic cobblestone side walks border wide boulevards. Elétricos (trams) clank through the streets, and blue-and-white azulejos (painted and glazed ceramic tiles) adorn churches, restaurants, and fountains.

The Lisbon / Central Lisbon area

Chiado is considered the most beautiful area of historical Lisbon. It was a place of residence of the Portuguese royalty and of the political and cultural elites. Nearby are located the theatre S. Luis and the opera D. Carlos.
A little further up on the left is Camões Square (Praça de Camões), next to Bairro Alto, picturesque but raffish; part of Lisbon's night-life seems to be concentrated in this quarter, which was frequented to hear the sentimental 'fados' sung in certain restaurants and cafés.
Chiado and Bairro Alto are “the” meeting point for locals and tourists, with elegant hotels, old cafés and the best international fashion shops nearby.

Apartment located at the heart of historical Lisbon, in Rua Garrett, at the Chiado area, near Bairro Alto. A few minutes walk takes you to the Rossio, in the Baixa, and to the Elevador da Lavra. On the other direction you will reach the Praça do Comércio, where has located the centre of the Portuguese old empire near the river Tejo (Tagus). To go to Sintra or to Óbidos you must catch the train at Entre-Campos train station, which is just a short subway trip from Chiado.

Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, banks, cash machine, public transportation (subway and electric trams) and 24 hour taxi stands, etc.

“Beautiful Lisbon apartment.” The Chiado apartment was exactly what we were looking for. It was in a very desirable location, clean, and spacious. The natural light and view were wonderful. Close to transportation and within walking distance of most of the historic city sites. Paulo and Silvia were very helpful in the booking and check in process. Excellent customer service. Silvia even arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 5am to make our early morning flight. Would definitely stay there again.

“Lovely apartment with a fantastic location.” The apartment have a great location in the middle of Lisboa, and It have also a great view. It is very easy to get around in the city, while everything is so close and only a short walk away. Perfect for a city vacation.

The apartment was new, clean, well appointed and layed out. The service from your staff was wonderful and fun. The location was outstanding. The view into the river was an added bonus. The view and sound of the always changing street scene was always interesting. When we return to Portugal we will stay longer in Lisboa and plan our trip to coinside with the availability of your apartment.
