And last, but not least, the private 30 m2 garden with its comfortable garden sets and bbq provide the icing on your cake during your holiday stay in the city. Here you can enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning sun or relax with a glass of wine after a long day of sight seeing.

The apartment is situated in one of Lisbon's old central neighborhoods: Graça. For a long time an area of rural usage, it was only in the XIX century that it gained its own identity. Many of the buildings around, much like Casa Vida em Lisboa, still have private gardens reminiscent of those days. One of the traits that characterizes the old neighborhoods is the strong communal sense of the inhabitants.
Local commerce is very active (if you feel like barbecuing in the garden you can buy excellent meat at one of the butchers in Graça) and people still have trust in, and loyalty to, where they buy their goods. An all-purpose supermarket is also around the corner, making it easy to get any product from your list. Café visits are a must in Lisbon day-to-day life and there are many options for different appetites and hours. Restaurants can be found at nearly every street corner in Graça, ranging from simple “tasca's” to gourmet places, both serving genuine Portuguese food and dishes from around the world.
Graça is particularly busy on Tuesdays and Saturdays as these are the days of the flea market, held a couple of hundred meters from Casa. We call it “Feira da Ladra” (literally meaning Market of the Female Thief), which gives you a magnificent opportunity to find, well, anything…
Graça goes hand in hand with its brother neighborhoods Alfama and Castelo. You can easily walk to both of them or you can take the famous 28 tram for a couple of stops, and even continue your ride until you reach Chiado.
Taxi and bus stops are nearby and the metro and train stations are within walking distance to take you to any destination within Lisbon and beyond.
Why stay with us?
Not only does the completely renovated apartment with its spacious and sunny garden in Central Lisbon give you a unique opportunity and basis to visit and explore the city, we will also do everything we can to make you feel at home. With us you can simply book a beautiful apartment up to standard, or you can opt for more input from our end. Being a Lisboeta, born and raised (and still living!) around the corner of the apartment and a relatively fresh but quite integrated Dutch migrant, we can provide you with any information you might need, personalize your stay and make your time in Lisbon unforgettable!
We will be waiting for you at the apartment upon arrival, provide you with some useful background information and will have a welcome package waiting for you.
The idea behind Casa Vida em Lisboa is that you get away from the standard hotel-flavored-trip, giving you your own “headquarters” while exploring the city. It is a glimpse of what Lisbon life is all about in one of the old neighborhoods: going to the little grocery shop, the local restaurants, the “real” bakery, the hidden cafés, the miradouro, the strolls to the flea market and the nearby park. Actually it is all that we would do if we were on holidays in our own city.
Now, to this you can add all the “must-sees” in town; places like the Oceanarium, the shopping district Chiado, the monuments, the museums, the beaches, the Fado restaurants, the nightlife and so on. Mix all those ingredients to your personal taste and rhythm and know that whatever you decide to do, Casa awaits your return.
