Downtown, epicenter, in heart of the city. Tramway at the door step(famous line 28), 100 meters from the bus stop ,100 meters from the subway station (metro) Rossio, with lines going in all directions. Shops, restaurants, theatres,cinemas, supermarkets, Free Internet access.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Lisbon and particularly this area is one of the most antique cities in Europe and it has many tourist attractions. Lisbon is a very nice, calm and pacific city; people are warm and welcoming, and there are a lot of historical monuments and large squares where you can relax while listening to the sound of the waters falling from the fountains. You can also enjoy the typical Portuguese “fado”, a kind of melancholic and sad but meaningful music, typically from Lisbon, along the streets or in the known as “fado houses” (“casas de fado”). The average annual temperature is 17 °C (63 °F)/21 °C (70 °F) during the day and 13 °C (55 °F) at night.

The Lisbon / Rossio area

Downtown, where the apartment stands - Praça da Figueira (Rossio) - is one of the areas that attract thousands of tourists and visitors annually. Rossio is one of the greatest and more beautiful squares in Lisbon. I has the statue of D. Pedro IV - an important king for Portugal - in the middle. Near by you'll find some other historical monuments such as Catedral (a cathedral) and the Castelo de S. Jorge (a very famous castle in Lisbon, where often occur artistic events). Some of the most historical areas of Lisbon are located near by as well, such as Bairro Alto (translated "High Neighborhood") and Alfama. There you'll also find typical Portuguese restaurants, where you can taste delicious Portuguese food and enjoy a good wine. There you can relax while listening to the sound of the waters falling from the fountains, and you'll find lots of shops as well.

“Live a little of Lisbon” The apartment first floor, a couple of minutes from the city centre, up a few steps off a main street. Travessa is narrow, maybe 2.5m wide, the buildings are tall in comparison, it feels like your are entering a history book. Good shops for catering nearby and for anything else you could possibly want. There's an excellent bread and cake shop a minute away and a good supermarket 3 minutes walk away - they do good fish, meat and veg. The apartment is small, without an oven, so if you want to bake use the microwave and there's a two ring gas stove which was excellent. Washing up is not too easy but manageable. There's a washing machine and you hang your washing on the pulleys outside like everybody else in the street. The local people were good and friendly, we passed a "bom dia" or two. It's an apartment for two people in love or one on their own.
