Sunny apartment. Has a living room with 268 square feet, with sofa bed, one bedroom with double bed, kitchen equipped with laundry machine. It is a 4th floor without lift, with view of the river and city. Five min walking from chiado and subway (CHIADO, RATO and CAIS SODRÉ stations). Bus in front of door (nº 727). 800 m from the river and train to Cascais. Have the antique tourist tram, the 28 tram, that takes you for a view of Lisbon tourist points. Wine shop, supermarket, museums, a lot of small cafes and restaurants can be found in the immediate neighborhood of the flat.

The famous Baroque Basilica da Estrela is situated not far north from the apartment. In the south of the flat the large museum Arte Antiga invites you to spend some time. From this museum you have a splendid view of the port and the docks, or Docas, good for an evening walk. You can take the famous tram Nr.28 to go on an exciting city tour starting from the Basilica da Estrela and ending in Graça. In Chiado, the cultural Lisbon centre, you should see the Chiado museum, the São Carlos opera (now with a great restaurant where the salads are very good!), the Brasileira cafe and see the great view from the bar/terrace of the two Hotels in Chiado, the Regency Hotel in Rua Nova do Almada and the other Hotel in Largo do Camões. In Rossio (near Chiado - north) you should see the D. Maria I theatre, go to Suiça and Confeitaria Nacional cafes. In Bairro Alto, an old area of Lisbon, near Largo Camões/Chiado, you have a lot of restaurants and bars, some with Fado! Don't forget to go to Alfama, old arabic area, with the typical Feira da Ladra in Campo de Santa Clara on tuesday and Saturday morning. In the summer, you can dinner there grilled fish, a good place is Pátio 13, or if you prefer you have a very good restaurant, the Santo António. Near, in Sta Apolónia, just front to the river, there is a disco, Lux and restaurants to dinner latter, till 2 a.m., Bica do Sapato and the pizzaria Casanova (the best in Lisbon!). Belém is also a place to visit and to eat the famous Pastel de Nata. There you have the Mosteiro dos Gerónimos, a gotic monument, also Torre de Belém and the CCB (Centro Cultural Belém).
How to get there
- The international airport is situated at 10km in northern direction. The best way from the airport is a taxi, there are always local taxis available - ask to go to S. Bento (Parlment), to D. Carlos I avenue. The price is around 13 Euro. - If you prefer, local buses run regularly between the airport and the centre (aerobus). At CAMPO PEQUENO you have the 727 bus that takes you to the apartment (ask to stay at the 1st stop in Av. D. Carlos - top). - Five min walking from chiado and subway (CHIADO, RATO, CAIS DO SODRÉ stations). - Have the antique tourist tram, (the 28 tram) that takes you for a view of Lisbon tourist points. - 800 m from the river and train to Cascais. - In this area you have great restaurants, supermarket, museams...

Area has good restaurants within walking distance, connections to heart of the city are good, three different bus lines going to different location stop just in front of the house... I highly recommend this apartment for short or long term rental.

Lots of must see things are in walking distance (prepare for the hills of Lisbon:-) and tram and bus stops are just around the corner / in front of the apartment. There is a nice cafe as well downstairs mainly visited by students. The flat was clean and very well equipped and there is a spectacural view of the river and the roofs of Lisbon from the kitchen. We spent a wonderful week here and will definiately be back again!"
