Tournesol, Arbre de Cerise
About the home
Arbre de Cerise is a beautiful 400 year old farmhouse that has been lovingly restored and converted into three gites. Tournesol is our 4 bedroom gite, sleeping 8 people, which looks out onto a grassed courtyard where a majestic cherry tree stands, providing stunning blossom in early Spring, an abundance of cherries in May and cooling shade in the height of summer.
Tournesol is well equipped, not only with modern technology but also with a generously stocked kitchen with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, utensils and cooking equipment - in fact everything you would expect at home. The decor of the gite is bright, tasteful and elegant, perfect for a relaxing holiday.
Across the courtyard is a large games barn and traditional French bread and beyond this is the main garden with our stunning, newly installed 10m x 5m HEATED swimming pool. The fenced and landscaped pool area is furnished with sun loungers and shaded seating areas for enjoying lazy days and convivial evenings.
Arbre de Cerise is part of the small hamlet of Grange, on the southern edge of Vienne, and is surrounded by rolling countryside. The climate in this beautiful region of south west France ensures reasonably mild winters and warm summer days. The N10 highway is 10 minutes away which makes Arbre de Cerise the perfect place for exploring this fascinating region.
Delightful local villages with boulangeries, bars and restaurants, along with several historic market towns provide an extensive range of facilities and amenities all within 10 minutes drive.

Tournesol is a very spacious four bedroom gite, sleeping 8, with lots of original features, oak beams, exposed stone walls and wooden floors throughout.
It has been fully refurbished in 2010 to provide high quality, comfortable and well equipped living accommodation.
Coming in from the courtyard , the fully equipped family kitchen, has plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, utensils and cooking equipment as well as a 5 burner hob and cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle. At the end of the kitchen is a large dining table seating eight people, and deep window seat looking out over the courtyard.
A door leads through to a spacious living room, with a 42" flat screen television with satellite channels, a dvd, ipod/iphone speakers and a wood buring stove in the original 18th century fireplace. There is another door into the courtyard from the living room.
Upstairs there are four comfortable, well furnished bedrooms (2 x double, 2 x twin rooms) with plenty of storage space and two bathrooms; one ensuite with shower and a second one, also with a shower.
Tournesol has its own table, chairs and bbq outside in the courtyard.
Further details outdoors:
In the games room in the barn you’ll find table tennis, a selection of board games, badminton, darts, boules and many other activities.
We also have a range of adults and childrens bicycles which can be used to explore the local countryside (it's quite flat and traffic-free) or to go and collect the morning croissants.
At the end of the main garden is our fenced, HEATED, 10m x 5m sparkling swimming pool, equipped with plenty of sun loungers in which to sit, relax and watch the day drift by. The area around the pool has been landscaped and features convivial shaded seating areas for eating.
Cots, highchairs and stairgates can be provided on request.

We booked all three gites as a family group. The houses are beautiful, the pool was fantastic and we loved the fact that the garden was enclosed so very safe for the little ones. Very quiet location, great for cycling and generally being lazy by the pool. The table tennis table got good use, too! Great that there were lots of bikes for our use.
House had everything we needed - kitchen was very well equipped. Wifi was a bit dodgy sometimes but still a bonus!

Arbre de Cerise certainly lived up to it's expections we had everything we needed and more. The gites are well equipped and all maintained to a high standard. We had the most relaxing time spending our days by the pool, cycling ,horse riding or visting nearby markets. Our trip to the nearby Valley of the monkeys was worthwhile too. You can certainly get away from it all here! The kids had a great time making full use of the games room and pool. Definately would go back so many more things to see and do!
