About the home

JASMINE HOUSE ia a stunning little apartment on the ground floor in a beautiful private house, fully secured with locked gates. Away from traffic yet only meters from the cafes and shops.

Spacious, clean and very comfortable apartment. Fully equipped kitchen, separate bathroom, full sized bedroom with lots of closet space in the bedroom itself and throughout the overall unit. Large open-plan living and dining area facing the terrace .

Private parking area, friendly neighbourhood, walking distance form Train station and from the beautiful beach called "Riva Bianca".

Cleaning and linen change at the end of your holiday are included in the price, however, if you book for two weeks, a mid term towel and linen change is included but not an apartment clean.

Beach towels are not provided, please bring your own.
Please do not use the apartment towels for the beach.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

Lierna is located in Lake Como area (Lombardy).

Our summers are wonderful with a pleasant breeze. July is the hottest month ( 26 / 30 C) , Springtime starts in March. May, June and September are the loveliest months.
Winters are bright with lots of sun shine and nearly no rain but chilly, it may snow, but snow vanishes shortly near the lake and stays on the mountain tops.

Lake Como has been an important through way for people coming and going north, pre-romanic churches, medieval castles and... look out towers are still to been seen.

Being very close to shopping centres of the region give fashion victims some different possibilities: to buy silk in Como , dresses in Milan and more...

Lake Como is full of villas and gardens and if you like is possible to walk up to the mountain in summer or skiing during wintertime.

Water sports are all year long available.

The Lierna area

Lierna is the village next to Varenna.
It is a very pleasant medieval little town on the east cost of the lake.
It is rich of beautiful old villas and has two of the best beaches on the whole lake.
It is 3 km from Moto Guzzi factory and museum, 10 km from Lecco, and 4 Km. from Varenna.

LOTS OF PLACES TO VISIT:
* Lecco at 10 km is the main city where the plot of the most famous modern novel written by Alessandro Manzoni " Promessi Sposi" was set.
* The waterfall "Orrido" of Bellano is a thundering water mass in a very narrow canion
* "Fiume Latte" near Varenna, the shortest stream in Italy which appears in springtime out of a grotto.
* Varenna is a well preserved coastal village with lovely shops, lake side restaurants and nice boulevard.
The ferry boat takes you to Bellagio and Menaggio ( and the rest of the lake if you stay out for the whole day! )
* Chiavenna ( the old "chiave" key for the passage between Italy and central Europe) it has a wealth of historical buildings, the streets in the centre with their old portals and houses looking onto the river Nera are very distinctive.
*Abbazia di Piona: located in a beautiful position near Colico, on a promontory separing the lake of Como from the lake of Piona, it was founded by the clunic monks in the 11thc entury, more over lake Piona is a resting place for migrating birds.
*Sailing and surfing schools in Dervio, Bellano and Colico, some nice small sandy beaches makes lake Como also very attractive to the young.

No wonder that the rich and the beautiful (film stars and football players) come to live by lake Como too!

Fly from UK to Milan/Bergamo airport with Ryan Air or with Easy Jet or British Airways, Alitalia... to Milan Linate.
Discounted car hire available with Hertz / Ryanair.

Orio al Serio Airport to Bergamo city station by bus, Bergamo to Lecco by train and change from Lecco to Lierna by train (total time h.1.30)

Frequent bus transfers to Milan central station from the airports and one train every hour towards Varenna, then by taxi to Lierna!

There are always local taxis available
Railway station is in town.
