The indoor dining area is situated in the centre of the modern open plan space and guests can walk directly out onto a fabulous 110sqm sunny lake view terrace, perfect for alfresco dining with west facing views over breathtaking scenery!

The open plan living room also enjoys private balcony access through double French doors, with fantastic panoramic central lake views to take your breath away. Comfortable sofas also feature in the open plan room to provide a sociable place to relax in with a flat screen TV for guests’ entertainment.

The sleeping accommodation is perfect for groups of up to 5, with a lovely master bedroom with a contemporary double bed and a second bedroom with a charming double bed and a comfortable wooden framed sofa bed for any additional guests.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspiring and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto
narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The Lierna area

The beautiful small town of Lierna is a delightful place to stay in with a charming cafe and restaurant lined lakefront and a splendid lake view sandy beach popular with local Italians during the summertime.

The town provides a range of excellent local amenities including a bakery, patisserie, greengrocers, supermarket, a florist, gift shops, hairdressers, a bank, chemists, post office and some very good restaurants as well as a relaxed pizzeria with takeaway service.

Lierna also offers a train service with routes to Valtellina, Bergamo and Milan city, making it very accessible from the airports and ski resorts.

GOLF
The nearest one to the property is Golf Club Lecco: frazione Pizzighettone 1, Annone Brianza (Lecco, tel. (+39) 0341 579525 - Directions: From Milan, exit viale Zara, direction Lecco ss 36 freeway, exit Hanno / Cesana Brianza, right at the stop for 500 meters, first in right.

Just 7km away is the famous resort town of Varenna with its charming medieval centre with boutique shops, cafes and restaurants and its romantic townhouses, cobbled streets and lake view vistas. Varenna also boasts the famous visitor attraction of Villa Monastero with its botanical gardens and also the medieval Castello di Vezio with its re-enactments, falconry displays and summer festivals. A frequent car and passenger ferry service runs from Varenna to the other golden triangle towns of Bellagio and Menaggio where a wide variety of daytime activities can be enjoyed along the western shore including sailing, golf, tennis, boat hire, cycling, quad biking and swimming at the Lido di Menaggio. Other splendid villas to explore include Villa Melzi, Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello.

Lierna (7km from Varenna) has a railway station with frequent links south to Milan, west to Bergamo and north up the Valtellina (www.navigazionelaghi.it) Varenna, ten minutes by car or rail, has frequent ferry crossings to Bellagio and Menaggio as well as a hydrofoil service to Como. In the summertime, there's a daily ferry link to Bellagio from the centre of the village. These good transport links mean that there's no need to bring a car.

We had a great holiday. The appartment was first class and with your photo instructions we found it easy to find. It was our friends first time in the area whilst we had made a brief visit 2 years ago. The weather was very kind to us although we were very lucky to arrive on time as we were the last flight out of East Midlands airport before the ash cloud descended. We found a small Bar/Restaurant by the lake just as you leave Lierna on the road to Varenna and we spent a number of evenings there. They made great Pizza and with the bonus of no English tourists! Sounds very antisocial but we try to experience local life and being in Lierna was perfect for that. We especially enjoyed Conico- again very Italian and in a lovely setting. We made our second visit to Villa del Balbianello in Lenno-a real treasure and we enjoyed the village and castle above Varenna.
A good restaurant is the one at Lake Piano. Thanks for your contribution in making our holiday so enjoyable and we would certainly point our friends in the direction of your web site.

Making a Booking

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
