The chalet offers all the modern comforts with skiing, hiking and walks all at your doorstep making it the perfect destination for family and friends to unwind after a busy day in the mountains.

Enjoy a cup of steaming hot chocolate and stunning views of the Chamossaire and the Pic Chaussy on the large south facing wrap-around balcony, kick back with a good book in the cosy reading corner or simply lounge around the comfy sofas by the open fire or in front of a classic movie.

The chalet has two spacious double bedrooms, the other room has a single bed and a comfortable double sofa bed. Conveniently, all three bedrooms are also south facing. Both upstairs bedrooms benefit from en-suite sinks.

Elsewhere, the fully equipped kitchen opens up onto the convivial dining area with its original built-in wooden benches ideal for that quintessential fondue or raclette! (Note that we provide both fondue and raclette sets)

As well as skiing and other winter activities from December to April, Leysin is also a fantastic destination for walking, hiking and mountaineering from April to October.

Leysin, one of the highest mountain villages in the French-speaking canton of Vaud, is south-facing, situated at 1264m, overlooking the Rhône Valley. Originally well-known for its unique climate, and claiming to be the sunniest village in Switzerland, with low humidity, it is shielded from any cold north winds by the mountains.

Leysin offers a unique attraction: the Tobogganing Park founded by Silvio Giobellina, Olympic bobsleigh champion. This park offers 4 to 8 tracks with sharp bends, on which visitors shoot down on snow tubes. Thrills guaranteed for fans of new sensations.

The village also boasts two sports centres offering groups and individuals a large range of indoor and outdoor sports: swimming pool, skating rink, tennis, squash, climbing wall, fitness room, polysports hall...

Leysin is small enough to be exceptionally friendly, and part of its charm is the busy local farming community. Many of Switzerland's finest wines are produced in the neighbouring vineyards, with excellent restaurants and shops in the village and surrounding district, featuring local produce, with an emphasis on wine, cheese, honey and mushrooms. Leysin is a unique village in an exceptional situation with excellent transport options.

Climbing and mountaineering in Leysin:

Leysin is perched high above Lake Geneva in the Swiss 'Prealpes', a region of limestone peaks in the 'crook' of the Western Alps. Thanks to a sunny aspect and pure mountain air, Leysin thrived as a sanatorium until the 1950's. This is still reflected in its architecture. Above the village stand the Leysin Tours, impressive limestone monoliths each with an easy scramble to its summit.

Much of the high land around the Tours is a nature reserve and the rest is classic Swiss pasture dotted with chalets and farms. The region is served by a network of well-marked hiking and mountain-biking trails and this, combined with the range of sports facilities within the village, makes Leysin a popular destination for an active holiday and a pleasant place to spend time before or after a course. A full information pack on Leysin and its environs may be obtained from the tourist office.
