Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
West Burton is recognised as one of the loveliest villages in the Yorkshire Dales and is unique with its large green, market cross, stocks and no through traffic. The old watermill occupies a superb location by Walden Beck, with the nearby Cauldron Falls, pools and a pack horse bridge. The waterfall pools provide swimming on the doorstep and fishing is permitted in season to resident holidaymakers. Numerous footpaths cross the dales and hills providing spectacular views and clean bracing air from the doorstep.
River View Apartment is a delightful, stunning two bedroom apartment retaining some of the original mill workings. With its proximity to Walden Beck the elevated position provides views out over the water, to the waterfall and surrounding area. A perfect vantage to watch the constant changes in the beck, its environs and wildlife.
Four stone steps lead over a flagged veranda and through double entrance doors into a wide panelled hallway with space for boots and coats. To the left of the hall is a spacious lounge with a central kitchen and dining area. The lounge has a polished oak floor and rustic wooden fireplace with a 'living flame' stove. Through the lounge is a lobby leading to a useful drying room and a bedroom with kingsize bed.
To the right of the entrance hall is a panelled bathroom with flagged floor, bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. Also off the entrance hall is a vaulted, twin bedroom with beams supporting old mill workings and a spiral stairway in this the original upper wheelhouse.
The retention of many original features, including exposed stonework, wood and flagged floors, blending with antique pine doors and a rich mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings add warmth and character to this apartment which offers a high standard of accommodation.

Northern England region
Carved from the rugged Pennine hills by ancient glaciers, gently eroded by rushing streams and then softened by meandering rivers, the Yorkshire Dales form one of the most varied and spectacular landscapes in Britain. Scenery so breathtaking and unspoilt that some 680 square miles have been protected as a National Park since 1954 - the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
West Burton, acclaimed by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in England, rests snugly in a deep sheltered valley at the juncture of Walden Dale, Bishopdale and Wensleydale. It is served by a bus route and is ideally placed as a base for exploration of the dales and fells whether on foot or by car.
