Woodhall Park House is situated on a small working farm, in the hamlet of Woodhall. The farm is off the main road surrounded by our own fields, woodland and 2 fly fishing ponds. Footpaths are in abundance, so ideal for walkers and dog owners. Pets are welcome to stay in the house. The house consist of a living room with a wood burning stove, satellite television and a host of books and board games. The kitchen diner is fully equipt with a large table for all guests to sit around. The utility room has a washing machine, dryer iron and ironing board. On the first floor we have a double room with views looking out over the dale, a twin room ideal for children and a second double room facing the wood to the rear of the house. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. The third floor offers the largest bedroom with unspoilt views , hard to be matched.
The house offers plenty of storage room. As well as all beds been made up with 300 thread count Egyptian cotton, we also provide towels. We offer a relaxing environment for all. Use us as a base for exploring the dales of foot or by car or enjoy a warm country cottage with plenty to do on your doorstep.
Askrigg is 2 miles away, made famous by James herriots 'all creatures great and small'. The spectacular Aysgarth Falls is 5 miles. Both can be easily walked to from the house.

The Yorkshire dales, famous for amazing scenery. Miles of green footpaths for all capabilities. We are in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales national park so there's lots to see and do. On fine days enjoy the great outdoors including walks along the river Ure, Hardraw Force and Aysgarth Falls or find your own less known streams and gills. if you feel up to more try the three peak challenge walking up Ingleborough, Whernside, Pen-y-ghent. The settle to Carlisle railway is near by for train enthusiasts to take a ride over ribblehead viaduct. For children, Lightwater Valley theme park is an hour away, call in at Brymore ice cream parlour on the way back. The weird and wonderful Forbidden Corner -A must!!
Wensleydale cheese, made famous by Wallace & Gromit is in Hawes. Just 8 miles away. Watch cheese been made, try endless samples and buy gifts in the shop.
The climate is varied. On sunny days you will struggle to find somewhere as beautiful. For lush green meadows we need rain, therefore expect a drizzle now and then! The Tour de France is coming to Wensleydale July 2014. We have lots going on through out the year including, music festivals, Galas, Livestock and produce shows, pantomimes,bonfire nights and more. Ask us for details on your chosen dates.
Within a 5 mile radius of the property there are various villages in each direction, including local shops, tea rooms and pubs. We have a choice stunning churches and chapels as well as Bolton Castle nearby. The cottage is surrounded by our own private land, which takes you down to the river Ure. Guests may fly fish in our ponds, which are stocked with rainbow trout. Spring time is always popular due to an abundance of gorgeous lambs. It may be possible to feed the pet lambs or see them being born.
