A 2 bedroom Victorian House in Lewes, 3 minutes from Lewes station and bus routes.
One double bedroom and one small double bunk bedroom. Bunk beds are 2m long so can sleep adults.
Wonderful balcony with views of Lewes Castle and Grange Gardens.
This sunny house will suit 2-4 people or a family with two children.

The house is equipped for self catering and has plates,bowls, mugs and cutlery for up to 4 people.
House let from Friday to Friday - Arrival time after 4 pm, depart 10 am. Please ask about other days and times.
For stays over one week we leave clean bedding and towels. We do not interrupt your stay by coming in to change the bedding but leave clean laundry so you can make the changes that you need. If you wish for additional cleaning this can be supplied at an extra cost.

"Small but characterful house, with a few foibles, in excellent location"
The property is a Victorian terrace house in a reasonably quiet street close to all town amenities. These include the wonderful Southover Grange gardens and a vast expanse of playing field and parkland (incorporating Priory ruins) all within less than 5 minutes walk. The railway station is less than 1 minute on foot.
The house is small, ideally suitable for a couple. There is a second bedroom, which is almost filled by bunk beds and is a passage to a rear wooden terrace. The latter is a most pleasant spot for morning or evening sitting with view over tiny neighbouring gardens, through parkland trees and up to the castle.
The conversion of the house to its present purpose has been intelligently done with generally pleasing result. The Victorian theme has been maintained by the owner (she rejects the term 'modernised') with slightly quirky saleroom furniture and decorations, but without clutter. The approach has some drawbacks – kitchen storage is poor, equipment limited in range and quality, dining room benches are junior schoolroom, bath/shower arrangements somewhat awkward – but one develops a system and accommodates after a few days.
Privacy is good, despite the proximity of neighbours. Electrics are good: plenty of points and excellent bedroom lighting. The quality of pillows could be improved. The requirement to take away your last day's rubbish is unusual and perhaps awkward for visitors by train (for whom this property is otherwise ideal).
But the house is small. More than 2 adults would be a bit crowded. In our view the bunk beds spoil what could be a pleasant southern sitting room (or study) giving onto the nice terrace. A futon or fold-up bed for accompanying child would be a better arrangement. And a proper shower cabinet instead of the smallish bath would earn that final star.
Altogether a pleasant house, albeit with some character foibles, in a good location in a most agreeable town.

"Location, location, location!!!"
Jenny's cottage is a little gem nestled in the conservation area of Lewes a mere minute from trains, buses and supermarkets. The garden is a lovely (even featuring a Victorian laundry to its rear) and the terrace, where we had our morning coffee and lunched more than once, has a million dollar view of Lewes Castle. Literally minutes from everything, the cottage is an ideal location for those exploring locally and farther afield. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen more than adequate and we loved the gorgeous stripped pine dining table. Do catch the antique auction (every Monday at 10.30) at the auction rooms at the end of the road and stroll Southover Gardens (also at the end of the road). Leave you car at home - you won't need it here!

"Great little house with good location for Lewes"
Stayed in Lewes on business and rented this little terraced town house near the Rail Station. Quiet little area with residents parking (for which you can buy tickets cheaply from the owner).
The house had everything I needed in terms of the kitchen and other living essentials. I enjoyed having a nice open log fire in the living room each evening - made the place quite homely.
I walked around the corner to the Kings Head one evening for dinner, and would recommend that. I was also aware that there were loads of other places to eat nearby, but to be honest I just preferred to cook this week and take advantage of having a kitchen (in your average hotel room a cup of tea is about the limit you can do for yourself!)
If there was a downside it was the shower, which wasn't mounted on the wall (perhaps due to water pressure) and meant a sit-down shower or careful bath. This really wasn't that much of an issue though. Don't let it put you off for reasonably short stays.
Would definitely recommend, and I'll be looking to stay here again if I ever return to Lewes for work. :)

"A lovely place to stay..."
A comfortable ,quiet homely let,with a great quirky feel .
the house has a cosy but modern feel in decoration and some lovely touches including the outside terrace and garden.The interior was extremely clean and tidy.
i stayed for one week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.i had 1 minute walk to lewes station,shopping and local historical attractions.
There was local parking available en street for the evenings and the station car park at £3 per day/£1 per day saturday and sunday.
The neigbours were also extremely nice and helpful and made me feel secure in the property.
A highly advisable property to let for a great stay in Lewes.

"A lovely little cottage in the perfect location."
We were here for a few weeks when we were between houses and the house was very comfortable. Its location was excellent so close to the station and within walking distance of all that Lewes has to offer. The house was nicely furnished with everything we needed and the garden was beautiful on sunny days.
