Home description
Eresos sits at the foot of a wild and grand mountain gorge. It is about an hour and a half’s drive from the airport and is a no-through village located 3 miles inland, through lush and fertile farmland, from the island’s most beautiful beach, Skala Eresos, boasting a 2.5 km stretch of sand adjacent to the crystal clear waters of the Aegean.
The appeal of Eresos is to holiday without being surrounded by tourists and ‘tourist’ culture. Palazzo, a classical Greek stone house has recently been renovated to a high standard and offers home from home comfort.
With Skala Eresos in such close proximity it is easy to dip in and out of the numerous bars and restaurants catering for holidaymakers without them being right on your doorstep.
This greek village has remained unchanged for the past several years and is totally self-sufficient with 2 bakeries, 2 butchers, 3 greengrocers and a few grocery stores. There are also 3 really good local restaurants situated around the village square, a small cocktail bar.
It's a great place for children to gain a little bit of independence in a safe and friendly environment.

The Aegean Islands region
Located in the unspoilt greek village of Eresos, located in the south western part of the island of Lesvos, famous for its’ petrified forest, olive oil, ouzo and Greek hospitality.
In other villages dotted around the island there are thermal springs, ancient monasteries, old fortresses and historic castles and a plethora of flora and fauna. Bird watching is very popular, especially in spring, when thousands of migratory birds pass through.
This is a very relaxing destination and not terribly touristy
Lesvos is the 3rd largest island in Greece and lies in the northeastern Aegean.
Lesbos / Lesvos Island / Eresos area
The famous Petrified Forest is a short drive away and there is a wonderful museum in the small fishing village of Sigri which is a great place to learn about the geological significance of the area.
there are several other destinations such as Molyvos to go sightseeing and several great secluded beaches and restaurants to get away from it all.
How to get there
Eresos is about 60 km from the local airport of Mytiline. the drive takes about 1.5 hours and the road isn't straight. charter flights arrive from many european airports including London Gatwick. First Choice offer a weekly charter flight each thursday between april and october. alternatively we would recommend you use aegeanair.com who operate from London Stansted to Athens, then Athens to Mytiline. there are currently 3 scheduled flights per day London Stansted to Athens. although Olympic Airways is another option we tend not to recommend them. you can also fly BA.com from LHR to ATH and then pick up an Aegeanair.com flight Athens to Mytiline.
