The Les Gets area
The beautiful landscapes and ease of access have contributed to the popularity of Les Gets, making this Charming alpine village with its old chalets in distinctive Savoyard style, friendly atmosphere and immense opportunities for sport, a top venue for a summer break.
This truly picture perfect village nestles in the heart of the huge and popular Portes du Soleil ski area, which in the summer transforms into a picturesque network of mountain biking and hill walking trails that weave their way through this alpine paradise.
Les Gets is well located for day trips to many other beautiful and interesting places such as historic Annecy ‘Venice of the alps’, at the edge of Europe’s purest lake - ancient arcades, picturesque street markets, flower-filled canals and narrow bridges. Other places worth visiting include the authentic old fishing village of Nernier and the Mediaeval walled town of Yvoire, on Lake Geneva.
Golfers can take their pick from a number of courses under an hours drive with equally stunning backdrops as Les Gets own 18 hole course. Courses include the Royal Park Championship Course at Evian (40 mins), which is a world-class facility, and the two high altitude 9 hole courses at Avoriaz (20 mins) and Flaine (20 mins) offering magnificent views. Alternatively the Annecy, Chamonix and Megeve all have their own courses, just an hour’s drive, they make memorable day trips.
