Chalet | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 9
Chalet Senlac is a high quality, spacious chalet, usualy ski back, boasting wonderful views, and just a 10 minute walk to the piste/lifts.
The Chalet is structured as follows:
The ground floor entrance leads to an entrance area (for storing boots/skis/outdoor clothing), a utility area (washing machine and dryer), and a sauna.
Going upstairs onto the first floor leads to the main living area which is open plan. There is also a large easily accessible balcony. The kitchen is spacious and also very well equipped. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating, a central log fire, a surround-sound system, TV, and a large dining table that can seat 9 or 10. There is also a wc on the first floor.
The bedrooms are as follows:
Bedroom 1 - a double bed with en-suite bathroom, this is on the first floor.
On the second floor, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom:
Bedroom 2 - two single beds (space for third bed)
Bedroom 3 - two single beds (space for third bed)
Bedroom 4 - three single beds.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 have extra mattresses and plenty of space to accommodate them. Each of these rooms has a balcony. There are also washbasins in each of the three bedrooms on this floor.
The bathroom has a bath, shower cubicle, wash basin and wc.
At the front there is adequate parking for two or three cars. At the back there is a large verandah, with a barbeque and table and chairs.
Look at the pictures of the view from the front balcony - these are the last two pictures in the set (taken early January 2012).
The nearby Les Folliets ski lift takes you over to Morzine and from this point, you can also join La Bruyere piste and ski into the centre of the village. There is parking outside for 3 cars.
Wi-Fi is available in the chalet.
Chalet Hastings is a three minute walk away, where there is a DVD library of some 300 DVDs and also where the staff live - so people are on hand 24 hours a day to help and advise with anything from ski routes to fondue equipment. There is also a printer available for the printing of any documents such as boarding passes.

The Rhone/French Alps region
The Les Folliets 4 man chair lift, just 300 metres from our accommodations, enables Les Gets skiers to effectively join the Portes du Soleil circuit with just one lift. From the top you can ski to the bottom of Morzine and from there take either the navette bus to Les Prodains, or walk across the village to the Super Morzine gondola. You can be in the heart of the Portes du Soleil within 45 minutes. Coming back can go even quicker if all falls well and you know the route from Pleney (top of Morzine) back to the starting point.
Once in the Portes du Soleil circuit you will never tire of the range or area. With over 220 lifts and 600 kilometres of pistes, this ski range offers a variety and snow sure skiing to match anywhere in the world.
Les Gets has very much its own identity. it has reliable snow, great and varied skiing, a wonderful atmosphere, and very beautiful and often stunning scenery. A long way removed in style from the purpose built resorts of France, the location and facilities help to make this possibly the outstanding all round ski resort in the French Alps which is why a Daily Mail (UK) journalist described it as the "hidden jewel of the Alps". Somewhat unknown to some as it does not feature large tour operators (not suitable for lots of people on buses to be dropped off at large hotels and buildings.....), its clientele is a loyal and established, and growing all the time.
