The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

One of the most popular regions in France and its very easy to see why. The area is lush green with a picturesque village round every corner. The region caters for every type of holidaymaker. If you wish to have a relaxing holiday sitting in a cafe enjoying a sample of local wines and food then there are ample restaurants and cafes to soak up the French atmosphere. But if you are feeling more adventurous there are numerous caves to explore, or take a canoe down the River Dordogne and see the area from a different perspective, go horse riding, walking or swimming.

The food is another reason to visit the Dordogne area. Famed for duck, foie gras, sarladaise potatoes and of course the wine.

There is a wealth of festivals to keep old and young entertained.

Les Eyzies

Many good restaurants throughout the area and cafes.

Sports activities such as horse riding, golf, canoeing and go-karting all within 15 mins. Aquarium and swimming pools at Le Bugue, prehistoric caves at Les Eyzies & Lascaux and many more attractions within 20 minutes drive.

Historic Chateau's in abundance, and the towns of Sarlat and Perigueux just 30 minutes away.

"Excellent location - Perfect for exploring the Dordogne"

Located off the main route between Perigueux and Sarlat, La Fargeotte is perfectly located for exploration of the Dordogne. We visited Bergerac, Perigueux, Sarlat, Domme and several of the beautiful villages along the Dordogne between Sarlat and Bergerac and all were within 30-45mins drive. The Parc Naturel is also within easy reach within 1.5hrs.

La Fargeotte is a well-equipped gite that will comfortably take 4 adults and 2-3 children. Paul & Jill are great hosts, who promise to be as visible or invisible as you want them to be.

Based on price, La Fargeotte is hard to beat for size, amenities and location. I would happily recommend it to others.
