About the home

The Chalezan apartment is accessed through your own private garden, overlooking forest and Alpine pasture. It has a one double bedroom and one bedroom with two twin beds both with en-suites. A living room and a kitchen/dining area. A second balcony overlooks "Mont Joly" which translates into beautiful mountain.

Mont Joly is just one of the mountains offering superb skiing. Les Contamines offers something for skiiers of every level, being higher than its sister ski resorts of St Gervais, Megeve, Combloux, all of which are included in the evasion ski pass, giving you a total of 450 kms of ski runs. If you like off-piste skiing, look no further, but if this is not enough, in less than a half hour drive you will find yourself in Chamonix, with its famous "Vallee Blanche"

At over 80 square meters the apartment is large and airy, with a newly fitted, fully equipped kitchen, leading into traditional Savoyard living area with vaulted ceiling. A wealth of mountaineering and skiing books is at your disposal, with large 3D map of the mountain area to help you plan tomorrows adventure.
A TV with dvd player and a selection of films to watch.
Internet access any where in the apartment, through Wi-fi.
Bedroom 1 has its own balcony, large double bed and en-suite shower-room, bedroom 2 has two twin beds and is also equipped with an en-suite shower room.
We supply all bed linen and towles.
Washing machine and dryer are in a communal area for all of the chalet.

Room for two cars in private driveway, free ski shuttle stops at the end of the driveway.
The Chalet backs on to a forest area with nothing between you and Mont Blanc!! A whole host of walks beckon, ranging from child-friendly to "dont forget the ice axe!".

There is a large childerens padeling pool also available for summer use in the garden.

Try some ski mountaineering from your back door.. we offer beginner to advanced moon lit ski tours/walks.

Everything is well kept and maintained by the owners, one has just successfully climbed an 8,000 metre peak in Tibet and the other a ski instructor - Both are more than happy to give advice/guidance.. we are also able to organise baby sitting.

Arrivals are on a Sunday and departures on Saturday, the minimum stay is normally one week (but do inquire as we are flexible).
we supply all bed linen, towles etc... No extra charge, freshly laundered.
A welcome package is available (milk, bread, butter.. etc..) just email me for options/prices
We are very child friendly, change mats, high chairs, cots...

Les Contamins is in the heart of the French Alps, with the attraction of the easy access.

The winter season, 15th December to end of April the village comes alive with activities and skiers! being at the end of the valley and right at the foot of Mont Blanc we are blessed with lots of snow,

In the summer in gets beautifully warm here, walk up into the cool of the hills and discover peaceful mountain lakes and cows grazing, Les Contamines is the start of the Tour of Mont Blanc, a 7 day trek around Mt Blanc through France, Switzerland and Italy... 9600 vertical metres. Even the tour de France cyclist pass near by. There is alot of fun and adventures to be had here in the summer. Les Contamines has alot of facilities, children's Parks, slides, rock climbing, absailing, donkey rides, horse riding, golf, cinema. Contamines even has an organic naturally heated swimming pool, good bye nasty chemicals!

The Les Contamines-Montjoie area

Only a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk and you're in Les Contamines village, offering you a wide range of ski hire, clothing and mountain equipment shops. French patisserie/ boulangeries for that fresh strawberry tart after skiing all day!! Supermarket, bars, restaurants (from gourmet, local fondue to take-away pizza) night clubs. It also has a children's park, a large skate park, open air ice rink and a snow half pipe, if you haven't had enough skiing during the day practise your turns on the floodlit run in the village centre open for night skiing!

Just the other side of the village you will find Notre Dame de la Gorge, a second part to the ski resort, here you can do cross country skiing, take a ride in a husky sledge, horse ride, try the assault course, walk on marked trails through the woods in snow shoes (raquettes).

In the summer you can take advantage of the golf course, swim in the "life-guarded" lakes, archery centre, mountain biking, there is also a ski jump training facility. Les Contamines has as many activities to offer as you have energy! The world championship for ski-a-cross is held here every year and this course is ranked one of the hardest competitions, so it's pretty amazing to watch. The half pipe in the village centre is used for national and European competitions.

The skiing is from green easy wide groomed runs to black runs, moguls, powder, a large snow park, half pipe, jumps and boarder-cross.
