The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region
The Thyon/Les Collons region is nestled right in the heart of the Valais Alps, in the French speaking part of Switzerland – one of the sunniest regions in Switzerland. Just 35 minute drive from Sion, the capital of the Valais, it offers spectacular mountain views of the Dent Blanche, the Matterhorn and the Val des Dix.
Les Collons / Thyon area
Winter: The perfect location for skiers with the chalet situated right next to the piste. The chalet stands at 1950m/6,200 ft. From Thyon/Les Collons you have access to over 400km of ski pistes as part of the huge 4 Vallees Ski Region including the famous Piste de L’Ours. This means you can ski from Thyon right across the valleys to Verbier and Mont Fort glacier. Snow from December to April. Free ski bus around resort/up to Thyon 2000. The ski area above Les Collons has wide open and sunny slopes. There are ski schools in both Les Collons and Thyon 2000. Local ski hire/sports shops.
Summer: The pastures burst into bloom and you are surrounded by the beautiful flora and fauna and fruit trees in the Valais. Sample the quality local wines on a guided wine-tasting tour. Explore the numerous marked hiking paths, horse-riding, mountain-biking and golf. Visit the historic capital town of Sion with its impressive hill-top castles. Take a trip up to the imposing Grande Dixence Dam - the highest in Europe. Relax in the therapeutic thermal baths and spas at Saillon Les Bains and Leukerbad.
How to get there
By Air: There are regular flights from the UK to Geneva (flight time around 1¼ hours). The car journey from the airport to the resort takes approx. 2 hours and takes in the stunning mountain ranges alongside Lake Geneva and the spectacular views over the Rhone valley from Sion en route up to Les Collons.
Sion has a small airport, Cointrin, for use with private jets and scheduled flight connections direct from London or via Zurich.
By Train: There are regular trains from Geneva Airport to Sion (journey time approx.1½ hours) see www.rail.ch
By Bus: There is a public bus (Post Bus) which runs about 4 times a day from Sion railway station to Les Collons. Sion is approx. 18km from the chalet. The Post Bus delivers you to the Post Office.
By Car: Several firms offer car hire from Geneva airport. Motorway from Geneva to Sion.

Further details indoors: Triple aspect living room with a stunning log fire place and wonderful views of mountains and pine trees. Cosy bedrooms with walls and ceilings clad in traditional pine. Under floor heating. Total floor area 88 sq m.
Further details outdoors: Chalet is situated at the end of a private footpath and is set in 1309 sq m of land next to the piste which is a lush green meadow in summer. There is a pine forest at the end of the front garden. Very quiet and secluded area, but not lonely as there are other chalets in the area. The village is serviced with shops, bars, restaurants, post office, sports shops and bank. Large supermarkets located in Sion.

Garage can be rented for £40 per week (approx 3 min walk from chalet) Limited car parking spaces during peak ski season
Local agent for collection and return of linen & key.
A 50% deposit is requested to secure a firm booking (non-refundable in case of cancellation).
Final payment due 8 weeks before arrival together with a security deposit of £200.
Deposit will be held against any damage/breakages etc (minor replaceable breakages will not be charged) and any additional cleaning over and above a normal standard end of tenancy clean
Deposit will be returned (subject to any deductions) within 2 weeks after departure and subject to the chalet being left in a good condition and keys returned.
