Eva Casa La Pagoda Hidden Gem
Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Eva Casa - La Pagoda a Hidden Gem situated among the gentle Fiascherino Hills! You are buying into a dream in the Italian Riviera! This is the wow factor and therefore it is NOT the cheapest available, but you would not accept it in the Italian Riviera!
Italy's tax has doubled in the last two years. However, our prices are the best value in the area. Please check for comparisons.
If you are looking for 'Value for money' we definitely beat all the competition! Prices vary, but the approximate cost is Euro 140.00 per night for two, in a B&B, in this area. If you look at our prices, we are far below this figure!!
This holiday is for the discerning traveler, looking for something different, who refuses to pay high prices for their stay, but wants the best, culture, food and nature. Wants to be away from the holiday crowd, confident, independent and positive. Ready to experience different way of life and thinking!
Italian beaches. They are NOT like our UK ones. You will need to budget to relax in comfort and have beach beds and sun protection. It is worth it! You will have facilities like WC, showers, food, drink, and life-guards for your safety.
Do not come, if you cannot live without English TV, and need to be on the social circle 24/7. Having said that we do have Italian TV, CD, and cheap WiFi is just five minutes up the road in one of the hotels.
Actually, Liguria is far more expensive than the most talked about Tuscany as land is more expensive and native Tuscan people come here for their annual holiday! All our Italian neighbors are doing this.
A fully furnished ONE double-bed apartment, located just minute's walk from the beach, close to the romantic ancient port of Tellaro, often referred to as one of Liguria's best kept secrets.
The apartment is not cluttered and looks spacious and is very comfortable for two people. You cannot judge any Ligurian apartment with a foreign eye. People from the Americas and from the Australia region have no knowledge as to how expensive the land is in Liguria. In Italy four people will happily live together in a small two bed apartment.
Quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10 minutes bus ride away from the fashionable resort of Lerici and a five minutes walk down to the beach by steps to get your daily exersice!
Discover the Fiascherino Hills, Liguria in the Spring by WALKING, PLAYING GOLF, TENNIS.
Eva Casa's unique position is the location, as it is in the very expensive hills of Fiascherino. Our home would suit people with interest in natural beauty, romantic rocky seashores, great food. It will not suit people who are looking for night clubs, noisy loud people, fish & chips, full scale kitchen, swimming pool, WiFi or air-conditioned rooms. Although I am happy to say, that I receive emails and make phone calls from my Black Berry.!
We love our little place as we find it comfortable and relaxing with everything one would wish to have for a holiday stay, with its south facing terrace we lounge there for long lunches, afternoon snooze, sun bathing and just watching the olive groves across the hills.
La Pagoda is a six unit condo with mostly Italian owners and you will need to get used to a different culture and language, but hope this is one of the reason you want to go there!!
You may think the rental is expensive, but with the government doubling their taxes, I promise you one thing, we offer the best value in this area. Do some research and compare prices, but you will not find another one-bed apartment in the Fiascherino Hills for the same money!! if you do, tell me!!
This delightful compact, ONE BEDROOM apartment, has access to all amenities, including a local market for bargain hunting, and excellent restaurants for eating out.
* The bedroom and the living room have direct access to the terrace.
* It has a small, but adequate bathroom with a good shower, WC, bidet, hand-basin and a small washing machine.
* The bedroom has a double bed and we think it is very comfortable as you can sit up and enjoy the views through the double doors towards the olive groves, it also has a fitted wardrobe and a small tall shelf unit.
* There is a drawer unit in the living room with plenty of other shelf spaces. Lights coloured wooden floors throughout makes the place airy and light!
* There is a small kitchenette, adequate for a week or two's stay preparing simple meals.
The OPEN PLAN LOUNGE has a double glazed patio doors to the terrace at one .Spacious sitting/ dining room fitted with modern white, Italian lacquered furnishing and light wood with table, chairs and a blue armchair and sofa bed. European, but mainly Italian TV programmes, radio with CD player and a small selection of English books for your enjoyment.
Fully fitted kitchenette with fridge, electric cooking rings and microwave. Large separate fridge/freezer.Bathroom with shower, washbasin, bidet and washing machine. There is a delightful terrazzo with sun bed, dining table, chairs and sun shade. It has sun all afternoon for private sun bathing, and birds sing to wake you in the morning.

This is one of six apartments at the edge of the small hamlet of Tellaro, just a few hundred meters from the sea (rocky shores and small beaches), 2km Tellaro (shops with the basic essentials, 50 m from the house bus to Lerici and Tellaro every 15 minutes).4 km horse riding, golf , tennis and sailing, yoga available in Lerici.
Golf - For those of you who are into golf, LERICI has a 9 hole course (Golf Club Marigola Lerici - Via Biaggini) located close to the sea with fantastic views of the harbour and castle. Eu 20-25 per hour. All year around, can rent golf clubs. Tee Par Length Slope. Phone: 0187/970193. The club also offers parking, restaurant, bar, pro-shop, driving range and putting green.
Tennis - Anyone for tennis? The Circolo Tennis Club is located next door, phone 0187/965995.
There is an open air public swimming pool, again adjecent to the golf and tennis facilities. Check locally for times and costs.
Walking - If you are into walking, you must visit the five villages of Chinque Terre. Take the train, bus but not the car as these are not allowed beyond the entrance to each town. Better than trains or buses, for those with the time a scenic path connects all the villages. A little strenuous, but the dramatic views of the towns and coast more than compensate for a little light sweating.
Cycling - is also a big passion as it offers dramatic sea views as bikers cycle up hill and around Fiascherino to Ameglia. You would find the roads towards Ameglia challenging
Spacious sitting/ dining room fitted with modern white, Italian lacquered furnishing and light wood with table, chairs and a blue armchair and sofa bed. European, but mainly Italian TV programmes, radio with CD player and a small selection of English books for your enjoyment.
This is an ideal place for many activities, be it a beach, walking, cycling or a golf holiday. If you want a 'culture vulturing tour' Pisa, Genoa and Florence are all in within an hour driving (boating) distance which will surely
satisfy all tastes.
A regular bus passes below us and it is very convenient, however, out of season this may offer a limited service. But please do remember that there are taxis everywhere and it should only cost you around Euro 5-6 to get back up to our place. So no need to struggle up and own the hill!
Our out of season prices are the fraction of the summer's so no need to save on taking taxis!!
Most people come by car and benefit from the car parking space offered. Real gold-dust!

The terrace is above a small luscious garden with citron and palm trees and overlooks a wonderful, old olive grove hill.
The terrace is one of our favorite places where we like to sit and just watch the sun going down behind the hills while having a drink,or two!
Getting there by air! Pisa or Genoa
There are a lot of different airlines who fly there. Ryan Air, British Airways fly to Pisa and Genoa, from the UK, but there are many others you can choose from. One word of advice, BOOK EARLY for best deals as Pisa is the main airport for Tuscany, Liguria so flights can get booked early.
We have FOUR beaches in the Fiascherino and Tellaro area and you can set out to discover them one by one. The nearest is just 50 meters up the road towards Tellaro and you will need to go down the stairs, which will keep you fit. The small ones are dotted around us, also in walking distance.
The Lerici Lido is the most luxurious beach in the area and cost approx Euro 30 for two people, buys two sun beds and one umbrella. To get there, you need to take our little local bus down to the town, a ten minutes ride for the locals. However, you must get there early by about 10 am in the morning, as they only have limited sun beds for rent. The rest of the beds are booked by rich Florentine Families well in advance of the season.
Wide, sandy Tuscany beaches are a short drive away on the other side of this inlet and facing the famous 'marmo caves" where all Michalengelos marble materials came from for his statues. This area has an all together different feel and experience.
The Lido with its castle view and wonderful golden sand is surely worth the effort! We think its magical!

The North West Italy region
The Gulf of La Spetzia, long known as the Gulf of Poets, is shaped like a gentle amphitheatre. To the west are Portovenere and it's small inlets, and the Tramonti area leading to the Cinque Terre, to the east and Tuscany beaches to the south, Lerici with it's unforgettable views from the castle, and further on, wonderful little bays-one of which is Fiascherino. Lerici, famous location for winter and summer holidays by the sea, offers with it's enchanting landscape a peacfull vacation full of opportunities. The Lerici shores are protected from harsh winter by the Apuan Alps and favoured by rich Italian florentines in winter months.
Lerici is the closest major water front town. Very picturesque, lots of local colour with excellent bars, and restaurants provide typical Ligurian cuisine featuring lots of fish. Take a ferry here to Portofino, Santa- Margaruita and Cingue Terre. Throughout the summer there are concerts and cultural events almost every night. 'Music, drink & movements' organsied by local businesses. You can get plenty of information on cultural events from the Lerici commune.
A larger town, Sarzana built in the 15th Century, with it's annual antique markets held in August and it's beautiful churches. Many bars and restaurants around the lovely town square. A 15 minute drive from the apartment.
Nearby and on route from Pisa to Sarzana are the famous Quarries of White Marble in Carrara.
For those who prefer wide, spacious sandy beaches, Fiumeretta is a short drive away. There you have the Tuscany beeches all the way down to Forte dei Marmi, where serious night life can be found !
Florence is only 1hr-30 minutes drive away! Genoa has the famous water park.
Golf is a short bus drive to Lerici with its beautiful view of the Castle
Yoga and aerobics classes locally
Lerici has a great outdoor swimming pool
Boats for rent at Lerici

Thank you so much for your great review and useful comments for future guests. Yes, we oftern think when visiting other places in the summer season that Fischerino is very quiet by comparison.
Yes, the normal charges for a similar apartment are in the region of Euro 840.00 per week for two, as most B&B's offer a Euro 120.0 per night stay. Of course, what you get is a room with a double bed and not much by way of a breakfast, this being Italy!
Yes, we are aware that our unique point is our location as it is in a breathtakingly beautiful area.
So gald you liked the size of the apartment and found it spacious as we try very hard not to clutter the place. The terrace is always on the top of the list when guests tell us 'What was the best feature in the apartment!
Of course, we would love to welcome you again next season.

Thank you so much for this excelent review! It is most welcome! Yes, we try to think of everything guests may need for a week holiday stay and are constantly improving our apartment. The uniqness is in the location and the convenience of La Pagoda's postion being so close to the sea. You have a car park, which you rigthly pointed out is an absolute must if you are driving there. Shopping is easy by bus and there are many beaches suiting all budgets. Did you know that 'Ecco del Mare' cost a Euro 100, just up the road towards Lerici? We also go to the same beach as you were using, called 'Franco's Beach'as it is the best. However, if you do not mind driving there are many spacious beaches in Marinella and Sarzanella 20 minutes drive away. Lastly, you will be most welcome next season, but please remember, if you have a definite date in mind you need to secure your booking 6 months before to avoid disappointment.Daniela, my agent is a very helpful lady, who constantly frets about her English, even though I keep telling her that she speaks it well. Hope to see you next year in one of my apartment!

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to write a review for us. It is good to know that you had a good time and enjoyed the quietness of our apartment. We try to think of providing everything to make our guests' stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Although, we do not have WIFI in our apartment, we do receive emails and phone calls on our mobiles and there is an internet point in a local hotel, just up the road, five minutes away. This is where I am dealing with my business when we stay there. As there are so many things to do in this area, we hope that you wil return again soon.

We stayed in Eva's casa 10th-17th August 2013 and had a really lovely time. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed. We especially liked the spacious balcony, ideal to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Also despite being high season it was very peaceful. There was a beach at the bottom of the road but I preferred the beach left up the road which had a beach bar with very friendly staff. Being high season you had to be there by 10am to get a spot(we used the umbrella from the apartment as to hire a lounger was 20 euros)Parking in Tellaro or Lerici was impossible(very good parking at the villa) so we only used the car to do a drive into the mountains which was great. The bus to Lerici was very convenient, Lerici is a beautiful town although being high season the beaches were very busy and expensive, though you can swim from the rocks in lovely clear sea for free! I recommend walking towards the castle from the square, about halfway along there is a tunnel which if you walk through you come to a lovely bar/restaurant overlooking the sea with loungers for hire with a ladder into the sea. Tellaro is a very charming village, nice for a walk in the evening, plenty nice restaurants and bars. The boat to the cinque terre is a must do-really enjoyable. We stocked up at Ipercoop(it's huge!) when we arrived and topped up in Tellaro which has lovely grocers shops but is expensive. All in all it was a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
Hello Dear Past Guests,
We were so happy with your review! Not every Guest understands the value we offer. Our place has no high tech and it is a one bedroom apartment, but it is located in one of the most expensive areas in the Riviera! As you discovered the value of a parking place, walking distance down to the beach and our south facing balcony make up for the lack of air-con and DVD player! Not that anybody would need air-con as we have a cooling floor and sea breeze. You found the beach beds and umbrella expensive. Yes, the Italians look at bathing in a different light! Most beaches are privately owned and you rent the beds and the shade, but get services like shower, WC and refreshments, wonderful food, cold beer, wine AND the business has to provide by law a rescue staff, so they look after their guests. In England you get nothing!! The idea is that you can spend a day there in comfort and we think it is worth it!
As you have discovered our strength is in the location as even in the middle of season you found our apartment quiet, and away from the crowds. You clearly apprecaiated this very special area of the Riviera and everything our apartment had to offer. Thanks again for your wonderful review and we would love to welcome you back. Eva

"Perfect location in lovely spot, close to beach"
Welcome and arrival very smooth, location ideal near beach and short walk into Tellaro but set back off the road so nice and quiet. Glad of parking space under the apartment. Apartment snug with lovely balcony. Only thing to improve would be the dials on the hob had faded so temperature a guess!
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write a good review for us.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed your week in our apartment and yes, we will have to think how we will sort the little problem with the hob.
Hope to see you in this beautiful part of the word again next season.

The weather was still perfect for long walks and sightseeing tours. The EvaCasa has an awesome location with easy access to all jems of Lugurian coast and the cityes like Florence,Pisa. The area has great attractions near by,great hiking paths which starts in Telaro.Everything you need is close by,the apartment is nice, clean, with big balcony.overall it is very nice place to stay wihere you can combine beach relaxation with sightseeing and dipping into Italian history. We were very happy and wishing come back again.
Hello My Dear Past Guests!
Thank you so much for the faboulous review! As you know that we (Daniela & myself) try to do everything for our guests to make sure that they are happy while staying with us.
We also understand that staying in a strange country and place can be stressful, so extra help is needed sometime.
It is so good to see that you appreaciated the natural beauty and the exclusivity of this location. This is where our strength is. Eva Casa is comfortable, but its location what it is all about.
Not everybody understand this, as for some people a plasma TV is more important.
Thank you so much for your trouble writing a review. We also hope that you will have an opportunity to visit us again in the summer. Discount will be guaranteed!

Thank you for your kind words. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in this fabulous part of the world. We have just spent a week in the apartment and enjoyed plenty of late afternoon sunshine.
The golden light is espcially wonderful at this time of year, a painters delight.
We pride ourselves to offer best value in the area and like to make our guests comfortable.
Glad you liked the bed!
Looking forward to welcome you back to Eva Casa, or one of my other places in Cyprus or Budapest.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
We were a bit disappointed that you only gave an 'Average' to your stay, eventhough your scorings were 'Good' in most cases when you dealt with our individual services.
Looking at my competition, I can see that their prices much higher than ours and the locations are not so great. Surely, our unique strength is in the great location, we offer, as you agreed to this. It should also count torwards the scoring. Liguria is the most expensive place in Italy, as land is at a premium and property costs sre higher than the much talked about Tuscany.
You thanked us for the complementary prosecco, which was very good of you. We offer this not as an incentive to book, like others, but as part of our service.
However, you would have liked a welcome pack, which we currently do not offer, but can do so in the next season. We offer this already in our Cyprus place as people arrive there in all hours. I have to say, that you are the first who mentioned this as a shortcoming since our opening of four years.
Overall, you complemented on most of our services, which we appreciate, we just do not agree that we offer 'Average' service, especially if we compare ourselves to other Italian self-catering holiday homes.
Thank you again for taking the time to write a review.

"Light bright apartment in great location on ligurian coast"
We had a lovely holiday at Eva Casa, which was exactly as described on the website - compact but light, bright and with all that you needed within the apartment. It was well situated with gorgeous views from Fiascherino across the gulf of poets, offering the option of visiting one of the local beaches or popping into Lerici, from where you could venture further afield. It was a pleasant 10 minutes or so walk to the start of Tellaro, which was a little like a miniature Cinque Terre village. The tiny harbour was quite magical in the evenings, and we finished our first night listening to a live band performing literally in the harbour, just by the boats - wonderful. The journey into Lerici was quick and easy by local bus (pretty frequent and still running until late during this high season), Just remember to buy tickets first from the hotels or tabac stores. A small practical point - travellers without a car who wish to have a few provisions in the apartment would do well to stock up before arriving (there is a supermarket in Lerici). The Tellaro stores are exhorbitant (at least the one we shopped at, once only, most certainly was), The ligurian coastline is absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to explore.
Hello My Dear Past Guests,
Thank you so my much for taking the time to write this wonderful review for us! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. This is important to us! We (Silvia & I) try very hard to think of everything you may need while you are staying at Eva Casa. There is always room for improvement, but yes, the value we give is the best in the Fiashcerino Hills, where a simple double room would easily coast Euro 120.00 per two per night in high season. This is only a bed with Italian? breakfast.
Since you visited, we added two beach chairs for guests to use on the beach. We plan more changes for the 2013 season.
Thank you again and hope you will consider visiting again
