Eva Casa
About the home
Eva Casa, a hidden gem, is located just 5 minutes walk from the beach, on the outskirts of Lerici, often referred to as one of Lerici's best kept secrets. Quiet and peaceful, yet only a 15 minutes bus ride away from the larger resort of Lerici.
Undiscovered Italy, Liguria in Autumn playing GOLF, TENNIS or WALKING are the best ways to enjoy this area.
Chilled prosecco is waiting for you on your arrival, enjoy it with the view from our terrace!
This delightful small, ONE BEDROOM apartment, has access to all amenities, including a local market for bargain hunting, and excellent restaurants for eating out. The bedroom and the living room have direct access to the terrace. It has a small, but adequate bathroom with a good shower, WC, bidet, hand-basin and a small washing machine. The bedroom has a fitted wardrobe and there is a drawer unit in the living room with plenty of other shelf spaces.
The OPEN PLAN LOUNGE has a double glass patio doors to the terrace at one. There is a small kitchenette equipped with all you need for a week or two stay. Details later in the text.
It has a nice size terrace for sunbathing and alfresco dining. This small property has six apartments at the edge of the small town of Tellaro, just a few hundred metres from the sea (rocky shores and small beaches), 2km Tellaro (shops with the basic essentials, 50 m from the house bus to Lerici and Tellaro every 15 minutes).4 km horse riding, golf , tennis and sailing, yoga available in Lerici.
For those of you who are into golf, LERICI has a 9 hole course (Golf Club Marigola Lerici - Via Biaggini) located close to the sea with fantastic views of the harbour and castle. Eu 20-25 per hour. All year around, can rent golf clubs. Tee Par Length Slope. Phone: 0187/970193. The club also offers parking, restaurant, bar, pro-shop, driving range and putting green.
Anyone for tennis? The Circolo Tennis Club is located next door, phone 0187/965995.
There is an open air public swimming pool, again adjecent to the golf and tennis facilities. Check locally for times and costs.
If you are into walking, you must visit the five villages of Chinque Terre. Take the train, bus but not the car as these are not allowed beyond the entrance of each town. Better than trains or buses, for those with the time a scenic path connects all the villages. A little strenous, but the dramatic views of the towns and coast more than compensate for a little light sweating.
Cycling is also a big passion as it offers dramatic sea views as bikers cycle up hill and around Fiascherino to Ameglia.
Now about our apartment: The open plan interior is light, airy, beautifully furnished in blue and white with wood floors. A separate bedroom: there is one king size luxury bed (orthopaedic) for extra comfort, and a fitted wardrobe.
Spacious sitting/ dining room fitted with modern white, Italian lacquered furnishing and light wood with table, chairs and a blue armchair and sofa bed. European, but mainly Italian TV programmes, radio with CD player and a small selection of English books for your enjoyment.
Fully fitted kitchenette with fridge, electric cooking rings and microwave. Large seperate fridge/freezer.Bathroom with shower, washbasin, bidet and washing machine. There is a delightful terrazzo with sun bed, dining table, chairs and sun shade. It has sun all afternoon for private sun bathing, and birds sing to wake you in the morning.
This is an ideal place for many activities, be it a beach, walking, cycling or a golf holiday. If you want a 'culture vulturing tour' Pisa, Genoa and Florence are all in within an hour driving (boating) distance which will surely
satisfy all tastes.

The building has a family atmosphere and the apartment is fitted with a smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguisher, two double doors locked at all times for extra security!
This is not a typical rental apartment with a few mismatched cups, a kettle, a toaster, but has a homely feeling as it is also our home! Although we only have a two ring electric cooker, there is a top of the range microwave, which does everything!
As we have so many very good restaurants, beach bars and coffee places around us, it makes sense to try the Ligurian cuisine, which is one of the best in Italy, serving a wide range of dishes including fish, foccaccia bread, specialties, and of course great wines.
Steam iron with a full-size of ironing board, mirrors in all rooms will make your dressing up for the night an enjoyable experience.
There is a big file waiting for you in the apartment with all the local places, beaches, restaurants details. There is so much to do, if you want to discover this not very well known area by foreigners! However, it is well-known by the Italians for centuries, as a stylish, romantic area.
Further details outdoors:
The terrace is above a small luscious garden which has many citron and palm trees and overlooks a wonderful, old olive grove hill.
The terrace is one of our favourite place where we like to sit and just watch the sun going down behind the hills while having a drink.
Getting There!
There are a lot of different companies who fly there. Ryan Air, British Airways fly to Pisa, from the UK, but there are many others you can choose from. One word of advice, BOOK EARLY for best deals as Pisa is the main airport for Tuscany, Liguria so flights can get booked early.
We have FOUR beaches in the Fiascherino and Tellaro area and you can set out to discover them one by one. The nearest is just 50 meters up the road towards Tellaro and you will need to go down the stairs, which will keep you fit. The small ones are dotted around us, also in walking distance.
The Lerici Lido is the most luxurious beach in the area and cost approx Euro 30 for two people, buys two sun beds and one umbrella. To get there, you need to take our little local bus down to the town, a ten minutes ride for the locals. However, you must get there early by about 10 am in the morning, as they only have limited free sun beds. The rest of the beds are booked by rich Florentine Families well in advance of the season.
Wide, sandy Tuscany beaches are a short drive away on the other side of this inlet and facing the famous 'marmo caves" where all Michalengelos marble materials came from for his statues. This area has an all together different feel and experience.
The Lido with its castle view and wonderful golden sand is surely worth the effort! We think its magical!

The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region

The Gulf of La Spetzia, long known as the Gulf of Poets, is shaped like a gentle amphitheatre. To the west are Portovenere and it's small islets, and the Tramonti area leading to the Cinque Terre, to the east and Tuscany beaches to the south, Lerici with it's unforgettable views from the castle, and further on, wonderful little bays-one of which is Fiascherino. Lerici, famous location for winter and summer holidays by the sea, offers with it's enchanting landscape a peacfull vacation full of opportunities. The Lerici shores are protected from harsh winter by the Apuan Alps and favoured by rich Italian florentines in winter months.
The Lerici / Fiascherino area
Lerici is the closest major water fronted town. Very picturesque, lots of local colour with excellent bars, and restaurants provide typical Ligurian cuisine featuring lots of fish. Take a ferry here to Portofino, Santa- Margaruita and Cingue Terre. Throughout the summer there are concerts and cultural events almost every night. 'Music, drink & movements' organsied by local businesses. You can get plenty of information on cultural events from the Lerici commune.
A larger town, Sarzana built in the 15th Century, with it's annual antique markets held in August and it's beautiful churches. Many bars and restaurants around the lovely town square. A 15 minute drive from the apartment.
Near by and on route from Pisa to Sarzana are the famous Quarries of White Marble in Carrara.
For those who prefer wide, spacious sandy beaches, Fiumeretta is a short drive away. There you have the Tuscany beeches all the way down to Forte dei Marmi, where serious night life can be found !
Florence is only 1hr-30 minutes drive away! Genoa has the famous water park.
Golf is a short bus drive to Lerici with its beautiful view of the Castle

Really enjoyed our week here with lovely weather for walking. Managed to do many of the walks around here as well as one day in Cinque Terre. Did not manage to get lost too many times except the two hours we spent driving around La Spezia trying to find the’ stazione’. Finally gave up and caught the train from Sarzana to Cinque Terre – so much easier.
Thanks Eva & Silvia as well.

Another wonderful week in your apartment Eva. The week has been just perfect and we will be sad to move tomorrow. Enjoyed the mornings and evenings sitting on the balcony. T is perfectly situated, so peaceful lying on the sun bed or sitting in the sun hair. That is how a holiday should be.
AS the holiday season has not quite started yet is has been very quiet and plenty of spaces on the beach. We have had lazy days bathing on the beach in Fiascherino. AS this is our second year, we were more familiar with the Cinque Terre area, which we walked last year. So we drove south. It was an experience to see the Tuscany beaches, but the beaches near the apartment are so pretty. A boat trip to Portovenere, exploring the castle, churches and port we can recommend. It is easy to take the bus into Lerici (and Cheap).
Thanks Eva we travel back to Sweden with lovely memories.

Firstly, what a wonderful place the Gulf of Poets is! Scenery is beautiful and the weather has been excellent.
The apartment is great, and though we have eaten out every night, except one, the small kitchen is fine.
Hints for the next guests:
-the best beach is Franco’. Go up the hill – to the left and down the steps. Crystal clear water and sand. Very busy on Saturday and Sunday, but lots of room in the week. To get a sun bed at the weekend, get there by 9:30
-best restaurant is ‘Delfino’ – 5 min walk towards Tellaro
-Tellaro is amazing
All restaurant are busy – book ahead

We really enjoyed Sarzana but we did not manage to see the antique market. We also liked Tellaro - we made a visit there. There are lots of steps down and back!
We also visited Chinque Terre & really enjoyed them. We visited three by train & just did the easy walk (too hot to do more) between the first two villages – all charming.
We recommend a day out to Portofino – we took the ferry from St Margherita Ligure and parking in the multi storey – lovely trip & beautiful scenery.
Lots to do here – enjoy your stay.

We had a great holiday in this lovely apartment.
Had two rainy days – went to see Pisa & Firenze 0 great trips.
Recommend to CLOSE the shutters to the balcony at night, because on the 3rd night we had a cat strolling through the apartment and walking on the counter – scared the hell out of me! Since then – closing the shutters was a must! Still get lots of air through the openings! (Carlo’s cat, Chu-chu, gets out sometimes, despite all the effort of Carlo putting up the fence – By the way, all Italians close the shutters for security as well as avoiding accidents like this. Perhaps I should emphasis this, to my guests next year. Eva)
-Took the bus to Lerici – easy & convenient – got some fresh fruit and vegetables and a pizza for supper
Wish we could stay another week!
Thanks Eva

Thank you Eva for the use of your lovely apartment, we so enjoyed its location, quiet feeling and convenient amenities. ……
……we left you with an umbrella and hope it will be here when we visit next time!
After two weeks, we have seen all weather types including hot sunny days and torrential rain with thunder and lightening and everything in between. While we have used our car a bit (and like having it as an option), we mostly went on bus/train/ferry to all sites.
Our favourite places are the Hotel at the bottom of your road, Tellaro, Fiashcerino Ecco del Mare – fancy resort/beach on the way to Lerici.
We stayed close to home most days and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere here, but did venture on ferry to Portovenere – Fantastic views!
Also took the train from Sarzana to Cinque Terre for an overnight stay. We had no reservations & thought we would be ok.
This time of year still it was ‘touch and go’ as we hiked two hours to Monterosso to Vernazza, arriving at 7 pm, only to learn there were no rooms available. Trained back to Monterosso and found a nice place for the night Euro110, breakfast and private bath “L’Antica Terrazza”. Food up in CT was great – as it has been everywhere. After spending the night in Monterosso, we spent q sunny day touring the lands using the train. We were not happy with a number of tourist up there, (esp. uptight Americans), but loved seeing the geography, architecture and sea views. If we ever went back, we would never try to visit more than one town a day & definitely stay over night with reserving ahead on time.. Corniglia was beautiful and looks like fun to say overnight.
Lerici felt quiet and comfortable on our return and we felt relieved to be back in this haven.
We enjoyed Franco’s beach – although we sad to learn that Franco himself passed away from throat cancer a few days before we were at his beach. The locals told us that the funeral was that day. Very sad. We walked all around this area and loved that too. Mostly, we have enjoyed the friendly people we have met. There are some who are not so nice & they stand out. But on the most part, we felt welcome here and wish we could have send a ‘Thank You’ card to the whole country.
GREAT VACATION!

Raewyn Baker:
I've actually been meaning to write and thank you, we had a lovely stay. We both absolutely loved Tellaro and the Cinque Terre Area as a whole.
The apartment was brilliantly located and was very clean and comfortable. Ninetto was very helpful, and communicated really well.
I will recommend your apartment to any friends travelling to Italy, and will endeavour to convince everyone I know to visit again with me!!
Guest Note One from Vincent & Roelien:
My partner and I spend one wonderful week in Eva’s casa in June of this year, 2009. We had a splendid time, the apartment looks very nice and light.
Eva has thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had the luxury of a washing machine, a refrigerator, a cooking plate and a very nice and big bed. It was all we needed!
Beneath the apartment we could park our car, which was very nice because of the coolness of the parking space.
Outside of the apartment you have the beach at very close distance, just at the end of the road, down the stairs and there you are, a perfect sandy and sunny beach including beds.
You can take the bus to what ever way you want to go, it’s very easy.
Just be aware that at the evening, the bus doesn’t come anymore after 9 pm or so. So if you go to Lerice, and have dinner there, you can walk back, it’s an about 30 to 45 minutes walk from Lerice back to the apartment, but also in the dark, so be careful. (They could have taken a taxi Eu 5 from Lerici to Fiascherino, & time table is scheduled till 11pm!: Eva added)
You can also eat at the restaurants in Tellaro, there are a lot of good ones.
We had a very good time and we thank Eva and her friends for this. We will recommend Eva’s Casa to our friends and family as well.
Enjoy your stay here.
Kind regards,
Vincent & Roelien

Guest Note Two from Claudia Centoni:
We spent a week at Eva's Casa ("La Pagoda") and our only regret was that we couldn't stay a second week (it was already booked at the time we reserved our first week of a two week holiday).
We thought Fiasherino and Tellaro were lovely - and the apartment was well situated and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the fact that we could walk to two different beaches within just 5 minutes (we explored two beaches that were equipped with umbrellas and sun beds for rent - Frank's beach and Blue Marin beach - there were certainly others to discover as well). In Fiascherino the people were extremely friendly. It being a very small town, it was very quiet and peaceful, despite the fact we were there at the height of summer holiday season (middle of July). We found that most people in Fiascherino were Italians who either had a summer home there or had chosen it as a destination for their beach holiday. As such,we actually felt we were in Italy - as opposed to some other Italian towns we know of which get so inundated with tourists in the summer that the Italian culture and people get lost in the background. Tellaro, just a 10 or 15 minute walk away - was also lovely - with some very nice, high quality restaurants, a very friendly cafe called Jolly's and bar with a large terrace from which we could admire the spectacular view of the sea. There were also some lovely little grocery shops - though, as expected, they were much more expensive than the larger grocery stores in Lerici or Sarzana. However, we did not have a car so we really appreciated the fact that everything we needed was only a short walk away.
There was also a very convenient bus service to nearby towns, Lerici and Sarzana. We took advantage of the bus and visited both. In Lerici, we picked up some groceries at Conad - and we were delighted to have a tasting of local wine, cheese and cold cuts at Enoteca Baroni. We also really enjoyed visitng Sarzana - a fairly artsy and eclectic town - inland - with lots of vintage clothing and accessory shops, friendly bars and a series of cultural activities taking place every night (open air concerts, fashion show, etc).
The caretakers were also very friendly and pleasant people - very helpful and accessible.
The apartment was well situated with nice sunlight all day long. It doesn't have air conditioning but we felt it wasn't necessary as we could leave the windows open (shutters closed) during the night and there was always a nice breeze coming through from the sea. We didn't use the kitchen much but it seemed appropriately equipped (though very small). In general, the layout of the apartment made great use of the space.
Last but not least - that orthopaedic bed mentioned in the ad - is a great feature of the apartment. Reviews often don't comment on the bed and perhaps we grow accustomed to not being as comfortable in beds we sleep in while on holiday. However, a comfortable bed is key to restful sleeps. The bed and the four big fluffy pillows definitely contributed to the comfort of our stay and rest.
We had rented a place for our second holiday week and we left the Pagoda with very high expectations since we had been so pleased with our week there.
To conclude - very good value for money - we would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to friends.
Claudia Centoni & Mike Gordon (stayed from July 25 to August 1 2009).
Guest Note Three from Edwina Kero:
Edwina's Recommendation: 'Home, after a fantastic week at Eva Casa. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in your charming modern and airy apartment. Situated in such a beautiful area it was ideal for walking, bathing and sightseeing with plenty of restaurants nearby. Everything was on our doorstep. Thanks for the very useful information in the apartment. It gave us some good tips. We can definitelly recommend the bus to Lerici followed by the ferry to Cinque Terre and then walking the five villages, it was an experience. But once back to the apartment our favourite place was the terrace whether sitting for meals, relaxing or just admiring the olive groves and flowers round about. It was so peaceful. Thank you Eva, we have lovely memories for the winter months and hope to visit you again. Jimmy and Edwina Kero, Sweden. 27 June - 4 July 2009.
Guest Note Four from Felicity Blake:
Felicity's Recommendation: I am writing in the first instance to thank you most warmly for allowing us to use your lovely apartment in Italy. After our daughter's wedding in Santa Margherita, which was truly idyllic, it was so wonderful to unwind in those lovely surroundings. We enjoyed Tellaro, the beaches, the lovely walks and a breathtaking drive in the Cinque Terra region. It was a real pleasure to use your attractive home. J & Felicity Blake, 2nd Aug - 8th Aug 2009.
