Mon Rêve is a beautiful two bedroomed duplex/cottage with all modern conveniences, it is equipped for year round living with all you will need for a perfect stay.

Mon Rêve duplex cottage, is located in a magical setting surrounded by tall pine and cork trees, is approached by a private road and is part of a small gated community.

Mon Rêve cottage is modern and with its wonderful location close to the sea, offers everything the holiday maker could wish for.

Location:
Set on the edge of the village it is a minute walk to shops, restaurants, cinema, and tourist office, Surf schools, cycle hire shops, and five minutes walk to the lake.

The nearby Atlantic beaches are renowned for their big waves and great surfing, and indeed World championships take place there.The Atlantic beaches span for 150 km or more, so you will be spoilt for choice, you can visit a different beach each day!

The lake of Leon is a short walk away, there are many miles of very safe cycling on off road forest or beach paths. The area is very popular for beach life, cycling, birdwatching, surfing, golf, body boarding, kayak, photography, wine and food.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Landes region

Discover an Alternative Aquitaine.
The southern Landes is a beautiful and undiscovered area of France, close to the Basque region, the Bearn and Northern Spain - the cuisine has a Spanish influence and the people are so friendly.
The area boasts two thousand hours of sunshine, with a lovely climate off season too.
Some of the best surfing beaches in the world are nearby.
The Village of Leon is right down in the South-West of France where the sun is much higher in the sky all year round. The forest of Landes is vast, and together with the amazing Atlantic dominates the landscape. The interesting local towns of Biarritz, Bayonne, St Jean de Luz are within 45 minutes and Pau, Bordeaux, and Arcachon take just 90 minutes or so...

The Landes is perfect for people who love to be outside -

There are Atlantic beaches with miles of soft sand - for surfers, fishermen and swimming, forests for cycling and walking, lakes, for fishermen, championship golf courses.. or just relax in a friendly cafe and watch the world go by!

-Just about an hour from us and over the border in Spain there's the fabulous cities of St. Sebastian with its pinchos bars and fourteen Michelan stars restaurants, and wonderful Donasta beach, further still is Bilbao (home of the Guggenheim) which is well worth a visit.

Leon area

Leon is an ancient Landaise village. Set only a few kilometres from the Cote d'Agent in the Southern Landes.
It has a lovely location close to the sea, with a daily market in summer. Leon has a beautiful lake with its own beach and safe swimming for children only five minutes walk from Mon Reve.

Leon, lots of restaurants, shops, and even a cimema.
There are many safe and pretty cycle paths through the forest and to the beaches. As a town you will find everything you might possibly need on holidays
.Restaurants, fishing, surfing lessons, bike hire shops, boutique shopping, pharmacy, boulangerie's.

Thought we have lots of information at Mon Reve, there is a tourist office in the village. Its is located next to its post office.

The local people are very friendly and welcoming

Leon has its own Rugby ground, which is a very popular sport in this part of France.

The Landes forest area is a peaceful, natural retreat .
An area of over 300 sq km and a population of just 350,000 -
Tthe Landes National Park is somewhere to spread your wings and to get back in touch with nature.

Visitors here invariably leave with a renewed sense of peace and vitality.

For active days there are lakes for boating, swimming, picnic-ing or just observing the wildlife, and several centres for horse-riding, canoeing, cycle trails, rambling along marked routes or discovering local history.

Join in village festivals in summer - lively, friendly, great fun!

In the north the wine country is on your doorstep, in the middle and south the ocean beaches of Côte d'Argent and Côte Basque and Biarritz, with its lovely airport are in easy reach. All in all, a natural haven for a wonderful family holiday.

How to get there

For the most relaxing travel, try the Eurostar to Bordeaux or Biarrits, it takes only 6.5 hours from London to Bordeaux.

Bmi Baby: Most regional airports to Bordeaux.
BA: Gatwick to Bordeaux.

Ferry : LD lines from Portsmouth and Newhaveno Le Harve
Britanny ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo and Caen.
Irish ferries from Rosslaire and cork direct to France.
Eurostar and TVG to Paris then Bordeaux, Biarritz or Dax.
Once in Leon a car is not essential, but is ideal.

Mon Rêve 's village location, close to shops, lake and beaches, offers the perfect holiday retreat. It is the ideal family or couples holiday home. Watch the sun rise from your bedroom and have Petit déjeuner on the balcony.

The accommodation:

Downstairs there is a fully fitted kitchen with ceramic hob, combination oven, dishwasher, washing machine and a very well equipped kitchen and lounge.

There are beautiful tiled floors, French style furniture and Satellite TV with a good variety of English channels. There is also a DVD player, WIFI internet for those who just have to keep in touch! Please ask: availability is not year round.

There is a very comfortable sprung sofa bed in the lounge which will sleep two people. Cloakroom with toilet.

French doors lead out to the garden which has two beautiful dining terraces, a deck area, surrounded by gardens with lush planting.
A fence and pergola, covered in climbing plants, lends privacy and offers a tranquil and beautiful space, in which to relax, chill out, eat, drink, listen to the birds, sunbathe. or barbecue.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double with balcony overlooking the garden, the other bedroom has a loft (bunk) beds, and is great for the kids. You will also find a shower room with vanity basin and toilet. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.

About the house and area:
Mon Rêve cottage is beautiful year round, is very suitable for couples, small families, (older children preferred) house hunters and the retired.

We provide comfortable outside furniture and loungers and bbq.

There are pedelos, boats for hire, and tours, cycle paths, and sandy beach for sunbathing. Very safe swimming for children and toddlers. Beach ball sports. There is also a tennis court nearby
Mon Reve is in a lovely part of Aquitaine in the old and charming village of Leon. The area is in the Landes forest and has the longest beach in Europe, with the Atlantic beach being a kids and surfers paradise.

Booking information:
A Booking Deposit of 200€/ £150.00 for each week of the rental is required at the time of booking. A booking contract is issued and should be returned with the deposit.

We require a security deposit of €300/£250 This is paid with final balance. This is returned within 14 days providing the property is returned in a clean and undamaged state.

The final balance no later than eight weeks prior to the start of your holiday.

This is a no smoking property.
We do not allow pets.
The property is a smoke free home.
Week-end visitors must pay the full cost at the time of booking.
Cleaning and laundry charges apply to week end guests. Caution deposit will be deducted if the home is returned in a dirty state requiring additional cleaning/laundry.
WIFI connection is available Free, however we do not take responsibility for connection interruptions.
Winter visitors must pay heating charge of 7 euros per day.

We had a wonderful time in Leon and Mon Reve.
The house was well suited for our family but since the weather was so nice we spent most of our time at the wonderful beaches... The house was really well stocked and very clean. It was very nice to spend time in such a place: it’s clearly not just a place you rent out but something special for your family.
Your agent was most helpful and gave us plenty of information of nearby restaurants. The deposit was returned at the end of our stay.
