Lake Como is arguably the most beautiful, probably the most serene and almost certainly the most relaxing place to holiday in Italy. If balmy lake side walks, sun kissed villas and tranquil boat rides along the lake take your fancy the area is sure to enthrall you. Not forgetting world renwowned Italian fashion, quintessential Italian Piazzas and gothic cathederals as well as history in abudance.The friendly local people and relaxed atmosphere is sure to leave your desperate to return-after all i made Lake Como my home having relocated from the Uk last year- as did Jerry Fresia the artist who shares the castle here in Lenno. It is fitting this 16th century home should be owned by an artist with its frecoed ceilings and art that adourn the place. The property takes pride of place along the shore of Lenno and represents the perfect location to lap up the culture of the area from the apartment, large spacious gardens or the golden beach visible from outside the property. Lenno area
Lenno is home to one of the jewels of the Lake in Villa Balbianello, a stunning villa enjoying a fairytale location with panoramic lake views amidst wondrous italian gardens- the villa was the scene for the recent James Bond movie, Casino Royale as well as Star Wars almost 30 years ago. Here you can enjoy cocktails while the jazz band play most weekends. The local Lido di Lenno, is beach side living par excellence. Just 2 minutes walk from the apartment here, relax on the golden sandy man made beach as you sit beneath minature tented gazebos as waitors bring you your favourite cocktail! Alternatively take a dip in the inviting lake.! The village is well served by boat and bus and is home to many local restaurants and bars, a supermarket, chemist and bank are all near by. Bellagio is just a boat ride away, explore the pretty lakeside town with its art, leather and silk shops. Visit Villa Carlotta with its majestic gardens, Villa D'este in Cernobbio boasts a magnificent setting for dinner whist Como City is home to a 14th Century cathederal, pretty piazzas and the musuem of Alessandro Volta, famed for his invention of electricity. Menaggio, 15 minutes north of Lenno is also worth a trip, reachable by car, bus or boat. Further afield you can reach Milan for The Duomo Cathederal, shopping, footaball & of course Leonardo Da Vinci's last supper painting and La Scala Opera House . Switzerland in less than an hour as is Monza for formula 1 is reachable by train or car. For those who wish to relax , the owner of the castle, Jerry Fresia invites you to his famous art school for some picturesque painting oppurtunites! Fireworks on the lake, Lunch at Crotto La Sorgegnte , a visit to Abbiaza Acquafredda and hiking to Santuario della Madonna del Soccoroso are all highlights loved by many returning customers to Lake Como!

Further details indoors: The apartment is owned by a professional artist and is tastefully adorned with paintings and a fresco ceiling. This studio apartment consists of one room housing two double french beds who double as sofs during the day and a small kitchen with dining for 2 guests and central heating (not that you will probably need it!) The apartment represents an idyllic romantic haven. The bathroom features a shower and wc. The apartment is situated on the ground floor of the castle with easy access to the garden. sleeps 4 guests however the size of the apartments means we only recommend and let the apartment for 2 guests only.
Further details outdoors: The apartment is situated within a gated 16th century castle enjoying large gardens, ideal for a summers day BBQ. Parking is available outside the castle. The lake is litterally right outside the front gate of the apartment! The castle is positoned just minutes from Villa Balbianello where you can enjoy an evening aperitif with the regular jazz evenings during the summer (eagle eyed fans of James Bond may have spotted this beautiful villa during the latest 007 adventure, Casino Royale!) The ferry port is just a few minutes walk from the accommodation accessing all parts fo the lake!
