Situated along the popular lake road with all local amenities to hand, in the pretty town of Lenno, this modern ground floor property is ideal for guests who would like to stay close to the conveniences and attractions and who would like to use public transport to explore the beauty of Lake Como!

The modern newly built residence comprises of only a handful of apartments with a car parking facility and secure phone entry system and is maintained to a high standard for residents and guests.

Once inside the ground floor apartment, guests can enjoy a modern and open plan layout which provides a wonderful relaxed atmosphere ideal for a self-catering stay. A comfortable sofa with wall mounted TV and DVD player provides entertainment and a newly fitted kitchen provides all the desired appliances including a gas hob and oven and coffee machine. The dining area is situated in the bright and warm open plan room and glass doors can be fully opened to allow fresh air in and guests will feel like they are dining alfresco!

A very stylish and spacious master bedroom with contemporary double bed features and also a sofa bed may be utilised in the living area to accommodate any additional guests throughout your stay. The new modern bathroom is fully tiled and features all the desired sanitary ware including a shower, sink, WC, bidet and a washing machine for guest’s convenience.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto
narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

The Lenno area

From the property, a bus stop is ideally situated just outside the residence taking visitors either north along the western lakeshore to attractions such as Villa Carlotta and the resort town of Menaggio and also taking visitors south of Lenno, through many charming rustic villages towards the cosmopolitan city of Como, where a wide choice of shopping, sight-seeing, dining out and daytime and evening entertainment awaits.

The lake road in Lenno offers a wide variety of local amenities for guests including supermarkets, banks, chemist, delicatessens and a gym. The heart of the ancient town, can be found in the lakeshore piazza which features a charming church, a wide choice of cafes, bars and restaurants and a picturesque promenade. The Lido di Lenno is situated along from the promenade in the idyllic bay of Lenno and offers visitors with a lovely sandy beach and a very good restaurant with bar which in the evenings transform during the summer months into a beautiful lakefront nightclub popular by locals, visitors and the fashionable Milanese elite.

From the Lido di Lenno, visitors can take the water taxi or walk on foot through a woodland trail to one of the most famous attractions on Lake Como, the breathtaking Villa Balbianello and its gardens, The villa is famous for being one of the most beautiful on the lake and as such has served as the backdrop to such Hollywood films as Star Wars and the James Bond film, Casino Royale. A passenger ferry service and water taxi service also operates from the Lenno lakeshore which provides a wonderful way of exploring and seeing the many charms and breathtaking mountainous scenery of the Lake.

By foot guests can also walk to the nearby medieval village of Ossuccio which features a sunny tennis court and park, a lakefront beach, a boat rental service and direct views of the famous L’Isola Comacina, the only island on Lake Como and one which enjoys a rich and colourful history.

Golf

There are Golf clubs around Lake Como: The Cadenabbia & Menaggio Golf Club celebrating 100 years this year and is Italy's oldest golf course. Established in 1907 with 18 holes Par 70, it is located above Menaggio near Croce, in Grandola ed Uniti, approx. 20 min. by car. Tel: +39 344 321 03. Green Fees: Weekdays EU 55, Weekends and Holidays EU 70 Euros; Golf Cart Rental EU 36.
Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.. Guests are always welcome, please call beforehand to check course rules. Golf Club Menaggio: (Menaggio Como).

There is also a first class Golf Course at Varesse for those staying nearer to the Lake Maggorie area.

Skiing

This beautiful lake region of Italy is not the best for skiing as you may imagine, despite its scenery, crisp air and near perfect visibilty and mountains capped in winter snow. It does however have Skiing opportunities at local resorts for a day out.

There is a small ski area on Mt. Lema , not more than 10 km from Lugano, but you have to be lucky to have enough snow for skiing. In Ticino, the local Swiss Canton, the best places to ski are probably either San Bernardino (south of the pass of the same name) or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass). Both are reachable in about 1 hour by car across the Swiss border.

There are direct trains to Airolo as well from Lugano and hence from Italian Stations. To S. Bernardino there is only a bus connection. For more snow try Andermatt (on the north side of Gotthard pass) which has normally good snow conditions and a good choice of runs.

The closest major ski resort is Madesimo toward the Splugen Pass, which is approx. 1 hr 20 min. by car.

Ferries & Bus Services: There are public transport links which consist of a Taxi Boat service and a regular Bus service to the towns of the North and South of the lake.

Making a Booking:

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
