This immaculately presented Villa is the ideal location to explore the lake! Lenno is well served with transportation to all parts of the lake via ferrys & buses.

The villa is very spacious and is arranged on three floors. The ground floor features a fully fitted kitchen, a separate dining and living area. The spacious living area is elegantly furnished with satellite TV, DVD player and fireplace.

The first floor features two bedrooms. In the first bedroom there is a double size bed with en-suite bathroom and a spacious dressing area. The second bedroom has twin single beds. Both bedrooms enjoy magnificent lake views.

The second floor features three bedrooms and a bathroom and a balcony with panoramic lake views.

In addition to this very special villa, comes the advantage of being able to use an exclusive private pool and a truly beautiful garden with BBQ.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto
narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

The Lenno area

Lenno is a pretty village just south of Tremezzo and has a charming harbour, interesting historical centre and weekly market. The impressive Villa Balbianello is also nearby.

Lenno is a small pleasant town in a good location and only 10 minutes southwest of Menaggio, from where you can take the car ferry over to Bellagio & Varenna. The town of Lenno dates back to Roman times. The baptistry in the village square is from the eleventh century and the crypt of the church dates from the twelveth century.

Lenno has a Tuesday market stretching along the promenade which sells a wide range of products including fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, cheeses and meats, clothes, shoes and many more. Close by are some good shops and restaurants with everything you need to enjoy your stay, there is also a beach (which is stoney but popular with holiday makers and locals)

The neighbouring villages of Tremezzo (Villa Carlotta), Cadenabbia, Menaggio, Bellagio are situated a few kms away. There is a weekly market in Mezzegra (Friday) and Lenno (Tuesday). The fishers of the village offer you daily fresh fish. In Mezzegra town, you will find supermarkets, the post office, bars, coffeehouses, the baker (which if you wish delivers fresh rolls to the house), can be reached in just a few minutes by foot.

Lenno is well served with transportation to all parts of the lake via ferries & buses. The nearest ferry station is just outside the main entrance gate of this Villa. Villa del Balbianello (famous as a film location in the James Bond movie, 'Casino Royale' and the 'Lido di Lenno' with its golden sandy beach and lakeside restaurant are both situated here in the village. A number of local Italian restaurants are just around the corner where you can enjoy delicious Italian fare. Experiencing Italian coffee or sampling one of the homemade gelatos (ice cream) is a real treat. Supermarkets are also just a ten minute walk from the property.

The regular ferry and bus service allows you to discover other beautiful lakeside towns such as Tremezzo with its famous Villa Carlotta, Menaggio with its bustling lakeside town atmosphere and quaint Sala Comacina (all only a 10 minute bus ride away).

Como city is only 25km away, reached by car or ferry and offers a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere as well as regular trains to Milan and other desirable destinations.

Golf

There are Golf clubs around Lake Como: The Cadenabbia & Menaggio Golf Club celebrating 100 years this year and is Italy's oldest golf course. Established in 1907 with 18 holes Par 70, it is located above Menaggio near Croce, in Grandola ed Uniti, approx. 20 min. by car. Tel: +39 344 321 03. Green Fees: Weekdays EU 55, Weekends and Holidays EU 70 Euros; Golf Cart Rental EU 36.
Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.. Guests are always welcome, please call beforehand to check course rules. Golf Club Menaggio: (Menaggio Como).

There is also a first class Golf Course at Varesse for those staying nearer to the Lake Maggorie area.

Skiing

This beautiful lake region of Italy is not the best for skiing as you may imagine, despite its scenery, crisp air and near perfect visibilty and mountains capped in winter snow. It does however have Skiing opportunities at local resorts for a day out.

There is a small ski area on Mt. Lema , not more than 10 km from Lugano, but you have to be lucky to have enough snow for skiing. In Ticino, the local Swiss Canton, the best places to ski are probably either San Bernardino (south of the pass of the same name) or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass). Both are reachable in about 1 hour by car across the Swiss border.

There are direct trains to Airolo as well from Lugano and hence from Italian Stations. To S. Bernardino there is only a bus connection. For more snow try Andermatt (on the north side of Gotthard pass) which has normally good snow conditions and a good choice of runs.

The closest major ski resorts are St. Moritz and Madesimo toward the Splugen Pass which is approx. 100K

Making a Booking:

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
