The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region

This is a traditional holiday area in the UK and recently has been enjoying a revival due to the mild climate, excellent facilities, wonderful welcome and brilliant food.

There is lots to do for both children and adults from world class golf courses, to fishing, boat trips, theme parks, stately homes, gardens, shopping, markets and so on!

It is also home to the only dark skies park in the UK.

Thanks to the gulf stream it is consistently warmer and sunnier in this part of the Uk, as can be testified by the many palm trees growing everywhere.

"The House With The View"

Just back from a relaxing two weeks holiday in Clach Mhor. It was a real pleasure to stay in such a welcoming, comfortable, spacious house with views of the sea and Ailsa Craig that took your breath … More

I am so glad the reviewer had great weather and enjoyed the picture postcard views.
The missing mini fridge in the upstairs lounge is my fault, it was too noisy and interrupted the sound of the waves so I ordered a silent dual wine fridge which arrives this week.It took a while to find a silent one!
The missing kitchen bin is also my fault as I hate them and find them to be very dirty and messy! If any guest really needs a kitchen bin we do have one so just ask.
The hairdryer may have been packed inadvertently by guests so I will order a new one.
Its lovely having guests who appreciate the very special surroundings we have so much- many thanks!

"lovely setting,cleaning could be better"

We have just returned from four nights at this amazing location. The views take your breath away. Exploring the house for the first time just got better and better. Sadly, as we looked a little closer… More

While I am glad that the reviewer enjoyed the house and fabulous views I am very sorry that the house was not as clean as it should have been on this occasion. My housekeeper has worked with me since the house was opened as a holiday let and she is fabulous and is extremely popular and helpful with guests.
We are all human however and mistakes can be made, and on this occasion the hot tub required extra time spent on it to ensure that it was safe and sparkling to use and this may have impacted negatively on the time available for cleaning meaning that some cobwebs, dusting and oven pans were missed.
We have gone over housekeeping arrangements to ensure that the cleaniness of the house matches the wonderful views everytime.
I am quite sure that this was a one off occurance and that guests will have no reason to doubt the cleaniness of the house in the future. Many thanks for your review.

"chill out time"

had fantastic time the views and sunsets are stunning. The house is well equiped but the oven door would'nt shut. The house has two sets of stairs that could be tricky if your disabled my father w… More

I am so glad that this guest enjoyed their stay and I am especially delighted that an 89 year old could enjoy the lovely views. We are aware that stairs are not ideal for older guests- we have added bannisters and made them as customer friendly as possible. There is a downstairs lounge and downstairs ensuite bedroom however the most delightful views are in the first floor lounge so its worth the climb! The old oven door was a complete nuisance- we have replaced the cooker with a lovely range cooker big enough to cook a feast!
