Pillars House in Constitution Street is an imposing late Victorian, early Edwardian building. It is only a five minute walk away from the popular bars, bistros, restaurants and pubs of The Shore in Leith, while a five minute bus journey in the opposite direction will take you to the heart of the city centre.
The imposing entrance hall has a marble floor and grand staircase.
The livingroom is truly jaw-dropping, with original wooden panelling, high ceilings, ornate cornices and sash-and-case windows. The interior design is light and elegant, with chandeliers, leather couches, a traditional rug and a stunning rococo mirror.
The large, stylish kitchen has fitted units and has been completely kitted out with brand new, modern appliances and utensils. It has a distinctive scrubbed wooden table that can seat at least six comfortably.
The bathroom design is inspired by the fin de siècle period. The one nod to contemporary design is the beautiful blue glass splashback round the bath. There is a vintage-style sink and toilet, and tongue-and-groove panelling.
The shower-room is a bright space with a mirrored wall, white wall tiles and a slate floor. A heated towel rail ensures your towels (and you) are warm when you emerge from the shower.
There are three charming bedrooms - two doubles and a single/twin - each featuring elegant and comfortable beds and classic white bedlinen. Cream walls and chandeliers create an elegant, sophisticated and restful environment. We have one double and one single aerobed - very high tech and very comfortable - for extra guests. They literally inflate and deflate in seconds.
There are two parking spaces at the back of the building for clients to use.

"Lovely apartment - but we felt it had been prepared in a hurry and was dirty"

I have never had the need to respond to a review before. All I can say is please read ANY of the other reviews and form your own view. Re the aero beds-every other guest has found them to be very comfortable-they are top of the range and give great flexibility. I also do all in my power to accommodate guests who arrive late-sometimes very late as in this case (no-one waits or has waited more than 5 min for me).Again it is worth checking all of the other reviews on this property and the two others I have on this site. Even better-come and see for yourself! David
