The Edinburgh region

Edinburgh is a vibrant city. A visit in August is a popular time to visit as Edinburgh hosts the famous fringe festival which is an ideal time to visit. Edinburgh is an ideal city break and using it as a hub you can visit the surrounding areas with ease.

From the atmospheric cobbled streets of the Old Town to the beautiful Georgian avenues of the New Town, Edinburgh is a city of contrasts blending shopping, historic attractions, gardens and plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can relax.

Step inside Edinburgh and the Lothians’ most magnificent historic houses and palaces and see the birthplace and the home of Mary Queen of Scots, the striking grand home of the Hope family at Hopetoun House and the home of one of Scotland’s oldest families.

Edinburgh and the Lothians is a region of important landmarks and is home to world-famous festivals.

Excellent visitor attractions, and fantastic restaurants in Scotland’s capital city make it the ideal city break.

All the castles in Edinburgh and the Lothians have a different story to tell, whether it’s about the Stone of Destiny, the difficult life of Mary Queen of Scots or one of Scotland’s most powerful families, the Crichtons.

Plus a fantastic variety of productions staged in amazing theatres. Settle down in a comfy chair and enjoy work by big companies such as Scottish Opera and the National Theatre of Scotland or see leading amateur performances.

Fascinating museums as you would expect. See T-Rex at the National Museum of Scotland, Concorde at the National Museum of Flight and Steiff Bears at the world’s only dedicated Museum of Childhood.

Edinburgh has a collection of fantastic art galleries which feature fine and modern art, portraits and contemporary work. Look out for pieces by Raphael, Monet, Picasso and other great artists from the early Renaissance to the modern day.

A lovely apartment with amazing views. Castle on one side, sea on the other. It is very well situated. We found we didn't need the car. We walked everywhere, and there was loads to see and do. We visited with an 11 year old a 17 year old and a Westie (Who loved going up and down in the lift and patrolling the balconies). Nobody was bored. Lovely restaurants and dog friendly pubs within walking distance. There is a good bus service from the end of the road if you don't like walking. All in all we had a great week and hope to visit again next year.

Thank toy for taking the time to review - look forward to seeing you and the family again soon

"Lovely modern appartment with fabulous views."

We stayed here during the Ryder Cup in September and had an unforgettable 3 days in Scotland. We were contacted by the owner Craig prior to our arrival with instructions for entering the appartment and although his fridge had expired he managed to source us a replacement and a cool box at short notice!!
Once inside we were blown away by the appartment. There are amazing views over the coast and the City from every room (except the 2 bathrooms!!) and despite it being September we spent a lot of time on the balconies enjoying them.
We decided to have a stroll in to the City and within 15 mins were in amongst the shops and restaraunts. We found Edinburgh to be a beautiful place and were gutted that we didn't have more time to explore and enjoy the sights. However, if and when we do return we would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone. Craig was in touch with us to check that everything was to our liking and was prompt in returning our deposit and we couldn't have asked anymore from him.

Thanks for leaving this lovely review - hope to see you again

"Beautiful apartment"

This is one of the most stylishly decorated and beautiful penthouse apartment close to the heart of the city. With it's close links to the city centre it's an ideal base for travelers to spend a few nights in this gorgeous apartment which boasts of all amenities including secure parking, SKY TV, broadband and a view of the city to die for.

The only negatives are the extremely narrow drive into the basement car park and that the apartment is not child-proof. Nevertheless I would rate it 4.9 out of 5 and strongly recommend it to anyone considering a stay here

Thanks and hope to see you again

"Fabulous apartment with great views"

Apartment spacious and pristine with good facilities. Love the balcony, the chalkboard and DVD collection. Great location for Ocean Terminal and Britannia. Within easy reach of Edinburgh city centre by bus or taxi if you don't wish to walk. Owner only too pleased to help. Would definitely stay again if visiting Edinburgh.

Many thanks for taking the time to review the apartment and hope to see you again some day.

"Would have been great apart from rancid smell for the duration of our visit..."

I stayed in this property for 3 nights with my husband and our good friends. For the most part, the flat was lovely and suited our purposes. The facilities were great, and the owner was very helpful.H… More

Thanks for taking the time to review the apartment. It was unfortunate about the waste disposal situation which was completely out of my control and rectified asap. Upon arrival back at the apartment the smell had gone completely so I trust you appreciated the effort to rectify the complaint during your stay.
