Kibble Mill is a delightful character cottage, furnished with a hint of 'yesteryear' and set in glorious countryside just 7 miles from historic Ludlow. You'll be fascinated by the interesting stories that many of the vintage pieces have to tell of love and laughter from a bygone age.

The cottage is ideal for a couple and has a galleried bedroom with a double bed and ensuite shower and toilet. The lounge / dining room has a television with DVD - one little concession - and the cottage is centrally heated. The kitchen area is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge and microwave.

This is a stone built cottage with attractive exposed stonework and beams. Our taller guests should take care with the low beam in the bedroom, but there is no height restriction downstairs. There are books, games and jigsaws to keep you amused as well as a wealth of information about the local area. We live close by and are always available to help with any questions you may have.

Outside there is a large herbaceaous border with many 'cottage garden' flowers. It is particularly delightful in springtime with a host of daffodils.

Kibble Mill provides a comfortable base for a relaxing break in this fabulous part of the country. There are walks from the door through farmland and woods in all directions as well as excellent places to eat and drink at the end of the day catering for all tastes.

Up to two small dogs are welcome by arrangement (small charge). Please mention this at the time of booking.

The Shropshire region

Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire are delightfully rural English counties in the west of the country. They are close to the border with Wales. The whole area is called The Marches. This area is rich in history with castles and battle sites in abundance. These days it provides an oasis of tranquility and is ideal for a relaxing short break or a longer holiday.

Hereford, Shrewsbury and Worcester are the main settlements. As well as with their beautiful cathedrals there is the world famous Mappa Mundi in Hereford and Worcester has a wonderful connection to the china industry. Ironbridge, the famous World Heritage Site, makes a great day visit as does the mid-Wales countryside.

The region is well known for excellent food and drink with many food festivals throughout the year. This is the main cider and perry producing area of England and the region also has a reputation for great local beers.

Ludlow is the nearest town and has been describe as the loveliest small town in England with its splendid architecture and picture postcard streets. In the centre of the town is the castle with a history going back to the Middle Ages. Ludlow is a food lovers paradise with excellent pubs and restaurants. The Food Festival in September each year attracts people from far and wide for a weekend of pure indulgence and fun.

Kibble Mill cottage is just 7 miles from Ludlow on the outskirts of Leintwardine, a village on the Shropshire / Herefordshire border that was important in Roman times and is still a lively and thriving village today. There are two excellent restaurants as well as a nationally famous 'ale house' and a popular fish and chip shop. The village shop and local butchers are well stocked.

There are many other delightful villages and small market towns for visitors to explore as well as a wonderful network of footpaths making their way through farmland and woods. There local rivers offer excellent fishing and are full of wildlife.

"Very relaxing away from the rat race"

On the 14th Dec 12 my wife Kate and I arrived at Kibble Mill Mock Tree Barns For Xmas and the new year, and what a delightful place it is our host Clive and Cynthia Prior are very friendly helpful, and make you very welcome. Kibble Mill cottage is full of character with its beams furniture and fixtures its like stepping back in time, however it has all the modern facilities that blend in to this lovely cottage, hot shower ( on-suite) flat screen TV Wifi ,and a fully equipped kitchen to name a few.
The cottage is pet freindly ( we had both our cat and dog with us) the car park is just outside the cottage , the surrounding countryside is breathtaking on Xmas day we walked through the woods and bridle paths to the local pub the Jolly Frog then back home for a very cosy Xmas dinner, Kibble Mill is a must for a couple who want to get away for some quality time together, We found it very sad to leave so we moved and bought a house in th local area !!
