About the home

A stay in any of our three traditional Mani homes offers our guests a unique experience in holiday home rental. As a result of our own extensive travel experiences we have made every effort to furnish our houses as if they were homes, rather than a rental facility.

Villa Leftkron lies on 950 sqm of landscaped grounds enclosed by a stone wall. It is oriented to take advantage of the magnificent Taygetos mountains, the olive groves, Stoupa bay and the refreshing sea breezes.

The ground floor has a large living room with a cathedral ceiling, stairs leading up to a loft and two tall French doors facing the sea. Separated by an archway, is the spacious fully-equipped kitchen. Two patios, off from the kitchen and living room, are ideal for al fresco dining. The ground floor also has a full-sized bathroom.

Upstairs, leading off from the loft, are two bedrooms, each with a balcony, overlooking the mountains, olive-groves and coastline. There is another bathroom attached to the loft. There is also a sitting area with bookcase on the loft.

There are 2 bedrooms and an alcove on the loft that sleep up to 5 guests. Bedroom 1- one queen sized bed, has own balcony with views to the mountains Bedroom 2- 2 twin beds, has own balcony with mountain views as well as coastline to the south. There is a sleep alcove on the ground floor withone bed, a dresser, night table, and a floor screen for privacy.
The bedrooms have very high ceilings with fans that make them naturally cooler.
Also, the house has been situated to take advantage of the regular breezes from the sea. Each bed has its own mosquito net, and plug ins are available as well. All the furnishings were custom designed and built by local craftsmen.
The loft is about 12 sq. meters. The 2nd bathroom is located upstairs off the loft, which also has a small sitting area that overlooks the living room.

Further details outdoors:
Villa Lefktron is enclosed by a stone garden with fruit trees,such as fig, pomegranate, lemon, grapefruit, olives,cactus, and mulberry. There is a patio directly outside the kitchen which is ideal for alfresco dining. Also,
in front of the house there is a spacious patio where one can sit or dine with beautiful views to the sea, and the sunsets. Both bedrooms have balconies with view towards the mountains.
There is a plenty of parking space inside the walled garden.
FOR EXPERIENCED SAILORS, A SUNFISH SAILBOAT IS AVAILABLE.

Villa Lefktron is available for long term rental from 1 Nov. to March 31 at a monthly rate of 750 euros, plus elec.

Booking Information: Price is fully inclusive of all services. A booking deposit is 25%, with balance to be paid 2-4 weeks before start of holiday.

The Peloponnese region

The Mani region of Greece lies in the southernmost part of the Peloponnese. Starting at Kalamata, it follows the Taygetos mountain range south to Cape Tenaron. Combining picturesque mountain villages with their stone tower-houses and lovely seaside villages, the Mani is a place of extraordinary beauty.

From the wall of Verga, just south of the modern city of Kalamata, to villages of traditional Mani Fighting Towers in the southern end of the peninsula, the Mani is a region where the past and present coexist in close proximity. Scant kilometers from fishing villages with modern hotels, restaurants and internet cafes catering to summer tourists lie beautiful mountain villages, nestled amid olive groves, that have changed little in the last hundred years.

While a popular spring and summer destination for European and American travellers, the Mani is untouched by the commercial mass-tourism industry. The towns retain their small village atmosphere and visitors do not have to fight crowds at the beaches or restaurants.

The Lefktron / Stoupa area

Stoupa is a coastal village in the unspoiled Mani region. The village is built around three bays, two of which have sand beaches that are among the most beautiful on the Mani Peninsula. They are well suited for families because of the shallow waters near the shore. The third bay has a pebble beach, and is ideal for snorkeling. The village is set amongst olive groves with the Taygetos Mountains rising to the east. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for rental at daily and weekly rates. There are some cafes just off the beaches that offer cold drinks and light meals for lunch. Kayaks and pedaloes can be rented from either Stoupa or Kalogria beach.
Because Stoupa is a small village, everything is within an easy walk. In addition to the cafes, you can find restaurants, gift shops, a rental shop where you can rent anything from fans to bicycles, and a pharmacy. For more adventurous souls, cars, motor scooters, and bicycles can also be rented in the village. There are also 2 supermarkets and a bakery. Stoupa is within easy reach of a 24 hour medical centre (2 km), and one hour from the major city of Kalamata.
The winter months in Stoupa are very mild, possibly the mildest in continental Europe, which makes it ideal for long term winter rentals.

Most of our guests come to Athens Airport.

With a RENTAL CAR:
From Athens Airport follow the signs to Elefsina, Korinth, Tripolis, Megalopis, through Kalamata at harbor follow signs to Stoupa.

Via COACH:
From the Airport take bus X93 to the final stop inside the main bus terminal for the Pelopponese. Take one of the frequent coaches to Kalamata, (around 16.50 Euro) and then a taxi to Stoupa. (28 Euro)

Via TAXI:
Taxis at the Airport will likely be willing to drive to Stoupa. Negotiate the fee in advance. Expect the trip to cost (180) Euro.

OTHER:
Via Ferry to Patras or Flight to Araksos Airport. Follow signs from Patras - Pirgos-Kalo Nero-Kalamata-Stoupa.

Flights to Kalamata (45km distance to Stoupa) are available in the summer Season.

“Absolutely wonderful!!!” Villa Lefktron was absolutely wonderful. It was our best self-catering to date. The home is lovely, built in a traditional Mani stone and timber style. We felt comfortable the moment we walked in. Everything you could possibly want was included in the well-stocked home. The hosts went that extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. They were approachable and helpful without being intrusive in any way. There is so much to see and do in this area, the beach is beautiful, walking and villages great. I would highly recommend Villa Lefktron.

“Our best holiday rental yet! The most lovely villa to enjoy Greece.” We have just returned after 2 weeks at Villa Lefktron. We can't speak more highly of the villa - wonderful location, views, very well maintained, cleaned and furnished. Spacious and airy - nice and cool due to the tall ceilings and fans (A/Con not needed). WiFi included - very helpful for me (I didn't return home to 300 emails!) Lovely patio with a view to the sea. Within a little hamlet but with a sense of privacy. Tracy and Takis are delightful landlords who made sure we had everything we wanted. The resort is also lovely - clean beaches and warm sea. Excellent swimming and snorkelling. Well stocked reasonably priced nearby supermarket. We thoroughly recommend Villa Lefktron. Enjoy the Greek dream there!
