The Peloponnese region

The area is the fruit basket of Greece. Famous for the Kalamata Olives and lovely citrus and fig fruits which never seem to get back to northern Europe.

We think the area has the best cuisine on offer from Greece specialising in many local pork dishes, fresh fish and great vegetarian food with the best Feta cheese from Tripoli.

This region is the home of many interesting places such as: Epidavros, Corinth - canal and ancient site, Kalavryta and of course Olympia.

The climate is temperate from May until October with July and August being the warmest months.

The area is a mixture of lovely picturesque beaches and traditional mountain villages dotted around the beautiful Tagetos moutain range. Even in the height of summer the roads and beaches are still relatively quiet and relaxing. If you visit out of season you will enjoy much more of the flora and fauna of this natural unspoilt area of mainland Greece and the temperature is more suitable for a more active exploring holiday.

We are close to the historical village of Kardamyli made famous by the late Patrick Leigh-Fermor with Ritsa beach and other surrouding quiet bays.

30 minutes drive to Stoupa where the golden sandy beaches are a little busier and a short drive to historical sites like Milea theatre, Ancient Messinia and Mystras.

Also close to natural sites such as Diros caves, Porto Kagio perninsular and Monemvasia.
