About the home

Pelican house is a stunning new build nestled into the hill side above the famous seaside town of Nidri, which is on the Eastern side of the Ionian Island of Lefkas. The design makes the most of the breathtaking views surrounding it, looking out over the Greek islands and across to the lush mountains of Lefkas and mainland Greece. The house is secluded with no immediate neighbours and the perfect place to hide away for a well earned break.

Lefkas is hugely popular with watersports lovers with Nidri being home to many yacht and power boat charter companies. Down the road to Vassiliki and you will find a mass of windsurfers hitting the water in search of 'Eric', the wind that rushes down the mountain every afternoon.

For the beach bums there are some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe including Porto Katsiki around the west coast of the island and there are plenty of trails for those of you who enjoy walking or mountain-biking. Or, why not just chill out by the pool at your private villa and watch the world go by below you!

The villa consists of kitchen/dining area, utility room, wc, living room. There are three bedrooms. The main guest bedroom, sharing a large bathroom with walk in shower and separate bath with the smaller guest bedroom.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has an en-suite, walk in wardrobe and its own large private balcony.

Cots are available on request.

We provide a welcome pack on arrival and can give you any information you may require for the duration of your holiday so that you can make the most of your time here.

The security deposit of €200 will be collected on arrival and returned on the last day as long as no damage has occurred.

The villa is close to many activities including dinghy/yacht sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, rental of quads/bikes/powerboats, trips to the surrounding Greek islands. For keen walkers there are many trails just behind the villa and for those who just want a good beach there are plenty to choose from less than 45 minutes drive away.

The villa is a ten minute drive from the busy town of Nidri, passing through the village of Paleokatouna which has two tavernas and a bar. Preveza Airport is a 40 minute drive.

The Lefkas / Nidri area

Nidri, sometimes spelt Nydri, is the island's main tourist resort and has an absolutely stunning setting at the mouth of the long and impressive inlet of Vlycho bay.

There is a spectacular view of the many tiny islands dotted around the turquoise blue sea, one of which is Scorpios, privately owned by the Onassis family.

Nidri (Nydri) has everything for a great seaside holiday - a great variety of eating and drinking options, lots of boat excursions, plenty of water sports. The beach is very popular during the summer but for those of you looking for bigger and slightly quieter beaches there are many to chose from on the west coast of the island, around 45 minutes away.

Nidri (Nydri) was once the playground of billionaire Aristotle Onassis and until his death, the area remained quite exclusive and undeveloped. In recent years, however, it has grown into the island's biggest and liveliest resort with many bars and tavernas lining the sea front. Its popularity has a lot to do with the sailing fraternity, who have long made its safe harbour a necessary port of call when in these waters.

The seafront of Nidri is called Akti Aristoteli Onasi, after the shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, and a statue of him looking out to his island of Skorpios dominates the scenery.

The area around Nidri (Nydri) is fairly flat and therefore ideal for cycle riding or walks through the olive groves to the Nidri Waterfalls. For the more energetic, fantastic views can be seen from the surrounding hills of Nidri, covered with wonderful wild flowers and blossoms in the spring and early summer months.

If flying from the UK you can fly from Manchester or London Gatwick to our local airport Preveza (a 30/40 minute drive from the house). This airport is accessed by Charter Airlines and flights can be found at the following websites: www.flyviking.com , www.monarch.co.uk , www.flythomascook.com , www.skyscanner.net

We can arrange car hire for you from a local company in Nidri so as to get you the best price.

If travelling from Europe you can get the ferry from Venice/Anconna/Bari to Igoumenitsa and from there it's an hour and a half - 2 hours straight forward drive to Pelican House.

“A little piece of heaven!” Amazing villa on top of the mountain, fantastic views, amazing pool & great BBQ. The last bit of the drive up is a little tricky but well worth it when you get there. We had everything we needed and didn't want to leave!

“Stunning view and all the creature comforts at your fingertips” The view is just stunning, everything in the house actually works (not always a given in the med!) and whatever small issues there are, they get ironed out in no time. Great place with kids if they can swim, small toddlers could be an issue coz parents sleep upstairs. Perfect base to explore the islands, get yourself into some sport activities or simply sit by the pool to let the world go by. Want to get away from the hectic everyday life, this is the perfect spot! Fantastic welcome pack and excellent customer service, delivered behind the scenes without you actually even noticing it. 5 out of 5!!!
