About the home

Villa 'FOS' romantic, self catering stone villa, in one of the most beautiful localities of southern Lefkada, situated on a low hill, is the sole privately owned property in a verdant municipal area extending to three kilometres. The residence has been built among the oaks, and the olive trees, 40-150m apart from three other villas to maintain its privacy.

The stone residence, of 180sq m, has the capacity to sleep six (6) to eight (8) individuals. It is in complete harmony with the landscape and is adapted to the traditional architecture. The villa has been built with local stone and natural materials, and roofed with old Byzantine tiles. From the courtyards and the verandas of the house one can enjoy the evenings and the starry sky as well as the splendid colours of sunrise and sunset and of the sun and moon mirrored in the sea before the villa.

The Villa has been constructed in complete harmony with the landscape and adapted to the traditional architecture. The residence has its own rectangle swimming-pool, dimensions. 4 x10m, with a 150sq m lounge area .

The Urania Luxury Villas consists of five stone villas all with private swimming pools and exceptional sea views from all the rooms. The four residences, villa FOS, villa HELIOS, villa IOS and villa IRIS, are nestled among oak and olive trees, spaced far enough apart to ensure privacy.
Villa GEOFOS is situated one km away from these, alone on a hill with fantastic southern and western views.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
It has two levels which communicate internally via a wooden staircase but they can also function independently via the exterior entries on each level. The floors are of wood and marble and the ceilings are the traditional Lefkas. All the rooms have large wooden French windows as well as windows with double panes and screens. There are living areas with sofa beds on both levels, with a kitchen on the top floor and kitchenette on the ground floor. There is air-conditioning in every room, home cinema and DVD.

One bedroom is on the first level with en-suite bathroom and is fully equipped with a double wooden bed (170x210) headrest, mattress and sublayer as well as bedside tables, toilet - office, wardrobe , armchair and home cinema -DVD. The bed faces the 2m wide French windows which open onto the large veranda with a view to the sea and the islands Ithaca, Cephalonia and a number of smaller islands.

On the ground level there are two bedrooms each with its en -suite bathroom. Both bedrooms have two single beds (1,00 X 2,10) which can be joined into a double (2,00x2,10) without leaving a gap in between. The bedrooms have home cinema and DVD and big French windows which lead out onto a roofed stone veranda that communicates with the courtyard and swimming-pool area.

All bathrooms have Jacuzzi and hair dryer. The bathroom floors are marble and the wall tiles are handmade. Ground level also has a separate WC.

Small living area on the ground area with kitchenette (small fridge, two ring oven, dishwasher) and a sofa (bed)which can seat and/or sleep two (mattress 1.40x2.00) and an armchair-bed for one person. Both,sofa bed and armchair are very comfortable for sleeping.

The residence has its own rectangular swimming-pool, dimensions. 4 x10m (0,80-1,60 m deep) , with a 150sq m lounge area with 10 deck chairs and umbrellas around the pool. There are more outdoor lounges, BBQ and parking space in front of the villa.

Lefkada is the island with the most famous beaches in the Mediterranean such as Egremni and Porto Katsiki . In the west side of the island the mountains go down and meet the coasts! Vivid blue seas,golden sandy beaches, unique sunsets, waterfalls,muntain up to 1200m high, the 100m high white cliff of Cape Lefkata,old churches, natural monuments, consist that Lefkas is an ideal place to go.

Summers are dry , the seas are generally calm and the temperature is between 21-27oC.In spring and autumn the weather is nice, a lot of suny days and the temperature is between 16-23 oC.In winter time the temperature is between 9-16 oC, there is a wet and windy period but a lot of suny days and marvelous colours from the nature

The Lefkas area

Lefkas is an astonishingly picturesque little island where you can relax away from the crowds. From Lefkas you can have daily cruses to the nearest islands such as Ithaki, Kefalonia, Meganisi, Skorpios and many others.

Sailing is possibly the most popular activity to enjoy from accommodation in Lefkas. Sailing around the Ionian Islands is hugely rewarding, dropping anchor when you discover a secluded bay or throwing a line out behind the boat and trying to catch lunch. There are yacht charter companies and sailing schools in the island.

Windsurfing is excellent in VASILIKI, one of the best place in Greece.

The clear warm waters which surround Lefkas are perfect for scuba diving. There is an accredited diving school in Nidri, where you can learn to dive or visit well regarded dive sights all around the island, especially some of the cave dives on offer.

The beauty of the island does not merely revolve around the coast. There are many breath taking views to see, as well as beautiful natural spots and peaceful mountain villages (both inhabited and deserted), making walking, mountain biking and horse riding holidays a magnificent option. You will enjoy the warm hospitality, and magnificent Greek food.
Wind surf in Vasilki,caves for scuba driving, waterfalls in Nidri,cycling, walks to the agricultural land with old olive groves and vineyards, horse riding, walking,a visit to Byzantine monasteries can make your vacation unforgetable.
