The Western Ireland region

The west coast of Ireland faces the Atlantic ocean and enjoys a year round mild climate due to the Gulf Stream. Connemara is especially well known for its beautiful beaches and mountain ranges.

Outdoor activities abound, although those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of our ever increasing stressful world will be equally enthralled.

Leenane is a small village populated by local inhabitants and holiday home owners. It is the setting for the internationally acclaimed film "The Field", and also the well known play "The Beauty Queen of Leenane". The village affords ready access to Connemara National Park, Aisleagh Falls, the victorian walled garden of Kylemore Abbey, Ashford Castle, Croagh Patrick, The Twelve Bens and Maarmturk mountain ranges. The needs of walkers and climbers of all abilities are amply accommodated. Wide and open sandy beaches ideal for family days out are plentiful. This is a fly fishers paradise with the Errif and Delphi fisheries on the doorstep. Golfers are also well catered for by a number of local courses. The perfect holiday location!
